About this location

The Lancashire region

Lytham St. Annes on the Fylde Coast, Lancashire.

St. Annes on Sea is an ideal location for adults and children alike in a region famous for its attractions. St. Annes, quieter than nearby Blackpool is a compact but bustling gown with clean, sandy beaches, beautiful promenades and excellent shops & restaurants. With countless nearby attractions this is an ideal place to spend a week's holiday or escape for a short break from surrounding cities such as Liverpool or Manchester or inland towns. Easy to reach from the M55 or by train or coach, nestling in Morecambe Bay, this coastal region seems to have its own mini climate and gets many more sunny days than areas only a few miles away.

Easy access to the Lake District if you want to venture further afield for a day out.

Lytham St Anne's

Just 4 minutes from the apartment you will find the town centre of St. Annes which itself is situated just a few hundred yards from the promenade and beach. Along the prom you will find lovely walks, mini golf, a miniature railway, children's play area, a paddling pool, cinema, Alpine garden, the 600 ft St. Annes Pier and several pubs and beach cafes where you can stop for lunch.

Wood Street is devoted to venues offering food and drink from English to Greek to the Far East or you can shop at M & S Food to make up a picnic or buy your evening meal. The shops include a small department store, independent retail shops and well known stores. Sainsburys is at the end of St. Georges Road.

The pretty Ashton Gardens Park is on your doorstep with a playground for the children and the beautifully restored Pavilion café handy for a break. ~The sand dunes are great for the kids to explore a natural haven for the adults.

Three miles away is lovely Lytham where you can walk on Lytham Green and admire the windmill, have some retail therapy or call in one of the cosy cafes. Lowther Pavilion Theatre provides entertainment in the summer as well as having a beautiful park and playground and a well priced café. From 2nd to 4th August you can attend the popular Lytham Proms.

If you want thrills and excitement, just 3 or 4 miles away is bright and breezy Blackpool with its famous Blackpool Tower and Circus, Pleasure Beach and Water Park, piers and theatre. Or you can take a trip on the newly constructed tramline to Fleetwood, a former fishing port now boasting a shopping outlet.

Fairhaven Lake, a 20 minute walk away along the promenade, offers boating, tennis, bowls, tennis, basket ball, putting, crazy golf and a new skate park as well as a wild bird centre.

If you're a golfer, there are four courses to chose from, the most famous being Royal Lytham which hosts the Open, then there is Fairhaven Golf club, the St. Annes Old Links Golf Club and Green Drive Golf Club at Lytham.
