Weathervane Cottage (C484A)
from £50 /night help
Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Weathervane Cottage has taken the Cotswolds by storm - our customers love it!
This spacious cottage is of a very good quality; the open plan design has a sense of both space and cosiness, a superb kitchen and a downstairs loo. The huge windows look out to the private patio and garden and to the country lane that runs beside the cottage. The character bedroom has lovely bed linen and plenty of storage. Pets are welcome - the cottage has an enclosed garden with a lawn and private patio with furniture.
Fishing (lake and river) and stabling (rates/details on request) are available on the farm. Lovely views and walks from the cottage and the 'local' is within walking distance at the golf club.
Chipping Norton is about 4 miles away with pubs, shops and restaurants; the theatre in Chippy is well worth a visit. Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within a short drive. Let the train take the strain (as they say!) from nearby Kingham or Charlbury for trips into Oxford or London (Paddington).

The Cotswolds region
From Windsor to the Welsh Borders our area offers a taste of what was and what is...fabulous properties of historic and architectural interest that sit alongside pretty tea rooms, gastro pubs, shops, restaurants etc etc!
In a simply stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are the Cotswolds with the unique honey-coloured stone, ancient woodlands and miles of rolling hills and over 3,000 miles of public footpaths. The rivers Windrush and Coln trickle their way through some of the prettiest Cotswold towns and villages you will ever come across, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Bibury. Royal Berkshire and the Thames Valley are on the doorstep of the Capital. Stay in Windsor (with a royal neighbour!), be close to Henley-on-Thames famous for Henley Regatta or walk The Thames Path as the river meanders through rural villages, historic towns and peaceful water meadows before it reaches the Thames Barrier in the heart of London. From your 'own' front door you can explore the contrasts of Worcestershire, Herefordshire & Shropshire. Visit the theatres at Stratford-upon-Avon, walk the Ridgeway Path from the Thames in the west through to the atmospheric Chiltern Hills.
Our towns and villages optimise the English rural scene...cricket on the green, a glass of locally brewed beer, peace and quiet - lovely!
A few miles from the market town of Chipping Norton, Lyneham is a small, rural village surrounded by farmland and views. Centrally located in the Cotswolds just a short drive to Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. Leave the car 'at home' for visits to Oxford, London/Paddington on the Hereford line from nearby Kingham or Charlbury.

"Excellent base for Cotswolds trip"
This was our second trip to the cottage, so we were obviously happy with it first time around! For two people, the accommodation is ideal, with almost all the facilities you would require. Everything … More
Thanks so much for taking the time to write your review. Comments noted and will certainly be passed on for attention.

The cottage was perfect. Comfortable, quiet and clean. Very close to the Golf Club for a nice meal and also there are a couple of pubs not too far of a drive which were great.
Would certainly recommend.
