A thriving local music and arts community provides numerous events throughout the year along with frequent art exhibitions and small galleries.

Lyme Fossil museum is a magnet for both adults and children and there are several local shops selling genuine fossils, gem stones and crystals. A guided tour of the fossil beaches is available - visit Lyme Tourist Office for details .

Nearby Honiton and Bridport are famous for their antique shops and markets with prices to suit all tastes.

All along the Jurassic coast are beautiful, uncomercialised beaches. Lyme itself offers both a partially sandy beach and ancient fossil pavement walk .
