Steeped in history, Lyme Regis is known as 'The Pearl of Dorset' set on the Jurassic Coast and offers a variety of activities - fossil hunting, fishing trips, a cliff top golf course, coastal walks along the Undercliff Nature Reserve to Seaton then in the opposite direction to Charmouth with a Heritage Coast Centre.
Relax in Lyme's landscaped Langmoor Gardens with outstanding views of Lyme Bay. Nearby you can visit the working town mill and sample delicious delights from the bakery then work it off on a climb up Golden Cap, the highest point of the Jurassic Coast.
Axminster is just 10 minutes in the car and is famous for the River Cottage Shop and Canteen.
