Goodlands is set in An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty here on the Devon Dorset border in the middle of the Jurassic World Heritage Coast which stretches for 95 miles recording 180 million years in time.
Goodlands is just a 5 minute drive to Lyme Regis an historic seaside town famous for its fossils with a sandy beach as well. Excellent walking inland and along the Coastal Path.
To the west are the seaside towns of Seaton, Beer, Branscombe, Exmouth & Sidmouth and travelling to the east along the South Dorset coast we have the nearby Chesil Beach, Abbotsbury, Portland with its new Olympic Marina and Weymouth. Inland Exmoor and Dartmoor can be visited in a day trip. For those who enjoy visiting National Trust locations and castles there is nearby Montecute Hous, Forde Abbey, Sherborne and Powderham Castles.

On our doorstep is the sea side town of Lyme Regis is famous for fossil hunting. Experts take out fossil hunting walks from Lyme Regis and nearby Charmouth. Pretty beach huts on the historic Monmouth Beach at Lyme and an area of sandy beach by the historic Cobb. You can while away the hours in the old town of Lyme with its Mill and enchanting back streets full of fascinating shops from the Micro Brewery and Cheesemonger to the art Galleries. Lyme Regis is the perfect place for a family holiday. The area is a foodies paradise with Mark Hix's Oyster and Fish House also in Lyme Regis and just 3 minutes drive away and TV chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's River Cottage for meals and events is just 3 minutes drive from Goodlands. At nearby Burton Bradstock a glorious beach with well known The Hive Beach Cafe.

Goodlands is on the well signed are of "Raymonds Hill" which is on the Charmouth Road (A35) on same side of road as" Hunters Lodge Inn". If you go past Goodlands then turn in the pub car park. Goodlands is almost opposite "Perry Marine" (with boats often on the forecourt, with entrance signed (just near a bus stop layby, and bright yellow extra sign with arrow put out for guests imminent arrival.
Ensure you have my mobile (given on booking) and land line numbers with you.
We ask you to phone us 20 minutes before arrival so this sign can be put on verge and we are there to greet you and show you around answering any questions you may have.

“Home from Home going back again and again”
what an amazing place. Joy has created another great relaxing place with lovely views of the countryside out of the large bungalow window watching the wildlife from the confront of the warm log fire behind you. With 3 rooms to choose from Joy has put her own little touches in each for that home feel we all loved. on to the kitchen With anything you could care to want, the well equipped kitchen has it all ready for use from the dishwasher to the nice sized oven Joy has thought of it all

We are just so pleased that our child friendly Goodlands, which they tried out for the first time this year, provided a happy holiday home for the family. "Goodlands" is a very homely and well equipped holiday let. It is extremely light,airy and spacious without loosing that cosy feeling. Beautiful view from the back,perfect for watching the wildlife. Further to 2 points raised below in a previous review from a recent guest - I am pleased to report that the 2 electric Mira showers, in addition to a bath, are working beautifully and more operating instructions have been supplied to ensure no one ever gets a mere dribble when they can have a "full on" spray and good soaking!
The main water mains runs through the Goodlands land so we have an excellent water pressure throughout the property.
The oil fired boiler has just had its service and is gently humming away peacefully in the corner!
Looking forward to seeing these guests again and remember there is a 5% discount for returning visitors.

“Superb accomodation”
Joy greeted us when we arrived and explained how everything worked which was easier than finding out ourselves. The bungalow is very spacious and well equipped , with a pub/restaurant within walking distance if you wish to eat out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“All home comforts and more at this spacious, well located holiday bungalow”
Joy met us at the bungalow with a warm smile and plenty of local knowledge - invaluable. Its location on the A35 is great for access to all places of interest with easy walking to Lyme Regis and its array of restaurants. The chips, fudge, cheese and locally brewed beer were great!

The farm shop just along the road has a fantastic selection of local produce and best of all is open every day - so guests arriving on a Saturday can visit at their leisure on a Sunday morning.

“SUPERB”
Just returned from a great week at Goodlands. The accommodation is fantastic, well kept, clean and everything you need is there. The lovely flowers and welcome pack on arrival is a nice touch and much appreciated. Joy is there to meet you and she is very friendly and welcoming and explains everything you need to know about the property and the surrounding areas, nothing is too much trouble even if you need to call her. Its location is ideal for the surrounding coastline of Dorset and Devon as well as the great countryside and villages. We will definitely be back again.

We have been self catering for 20 years in UK & Florida. This property and the Proprietors Joy & Tara exceeded our expectations. (We have so often been disapointed in UK). Property well maintained, clean, very comfortable and well equipped to a high standard. Large grassed areas for kids to let off steam. Property well sited for visiting many parts of Devon & Dorset.
