Holiday renting opened all year long; U Casone is a village house recognized as a remarkable traditional building, "Les Maisons de Poghju".. More than 100m2, for 6 people, on 3 levels with terrace and a view of the sea as well as the island of Elbe.
Independent entrance – Private parking – Free Wi-Fi.
5km away from the first beaches and close to hiking trails. Numerous shops and services nearby.
The building, with its roof made of traditional “lauzes” is in dry stone, with walls of more than one meter thick, it stands on the cliff of the village. It dates from the 19th century and the construction of levels had to be made in several phases. There were no traditional floors left nor walls, everything had to be made from scratch. At the beginning of construction work, on the ground floor, under the rubble, we found out this space was ounce a “palmentu”, a place used to press grapes in order to create the “moult” which then was laid to rest in big bowls. Its total surface, its big living room and its two French doors giving access to a big terrace shaded by hundred years old chestnuts, the terrace and windows that offer you amazing views and panoramas, the historicity of the building, the elegance of its authenticity, the comfort and level of equipment make U Casone a charming and high-end holiday rental.

About this location
The Corsica region
In the heart of the Cap Corse, the commune of Luri has the advantage to shorten distances for people wanting to crisscross the Corsican Cape territory. Its valley (the deepest of the Corsican cape peninsula), which houses a river and surrounded by peaks (North, West and South) hosts no less than three natural areas of fauna, flora and ecological interest (ZNIEFF). Luri culminates at 1136 m (3727,2 ft).
This topography offers a multitude of hiking routes each with a variety of height (from beginner to advanced), multiple landscapes and points of view (the Tuscan archipelago, Tuscany coasts, Liguria and the French Riviera, hillsides with dense Corsican scrub and forests, “crest pelées”, wonderful views of Corsican villages) establishing as a key storage of biodiversity, which is preserved although very fragile.
A few trails, traced in the Corsican scrub, will enchant the mountain biking enthusiasts. The paved roads linking the villages and other communes of the Cap together will please the bicycle lovers.
In the East is Luri's marina, Santa Severa, created at the beginning of the 18th century. Its little port and beach on the Tyrrhenian Sea are facing the island of Elbe.
Today the commune of Luri is composed of 18 villages, each one having their specificities mainly thanks to their geographical implantation whilst offering a common architectural style: the traditional dry rock walls and flagstone roofs. Almost every village holds a chapel, as a proof of a rich historical and cultural background, that goes all the way back to prehistory. Besides, many Corsican locations, monuments and work of art have been classified National Heritage Sites.
More than 700 inhabitants live all year long in Luri (i luresi) which makes it a lively commune, offering all kind of shops and services allowing great local autonomy.
It is, thus, the typical village of Poghju (Poggio) built on the peak overlooking A piazza (Luri's main village) and a major part of the valley, that hosts the location of our houses, and, we hope, your next holidays!
