A stylish little romantic self catering cottage close to the Jurassic Coast, nestling on the edge of the Blackdown Hills in East Devon. Overlooking a leafy woodland where the only sound is the gentle rustle of trees in the breeze, Wrens Nest is a cute little eco barn with timber balcony overlooking trees and woodland. Uncluttered and chic, a mixture of country charm and modern style, its open plan layout is light and airy with vaulted celings, roof window and a romantic mezzanine bedroom with Kingsize bed that can be split into a twin if desired.
A perfect setting for walkers wishing to explore the Blackdown Hills or trek the coastal footpath on the East Devon coast, pretty seaside villages such as Beer, Seaton and Lyme Regis all within a half hours drive. The beautiful city of Exeter is just a half hours drive or train journey from nearby Honiton, well worth a visit weather you wish to soak up the ambiance and history of the ancient buildings, enjoy fine dining at one of the many excellent restaurants or shop till you drop at Princess Hay shopping centre.
If all you wish to do is kick back and relax then this is the perfect spot. Quiet and peaceful you can doze on a deck chair beside one of the lakes in the grounds, if its too hot you might want to try a spot of wild swimming and take a dip. Take a picnic into the woods or simply relax with a good book on the balcony.
The barn is heated by eco underfloor heating. Cooking facilities include a two ring hob, a microwave and a Remoska Oven that you can prepare just about anything in. The property doesn't have a full size conventional oven. There is parking for one car just outside the property. There is wireless broadband.

The Devon region
There is so much on offer for anyone looking to take a holiday in Devon. It is truly a beautiful and diverse county with sweeping moorland, wooded valleys to dramatic coastline, long sandy beaches, hidden inlets and traditional seaside towns and villages. Famous for its traditionally mild climate although 2010 saw snowfall in areas that exceed the Alps. The county is also proud of its locally grown produce where green lush fields and crystal clear seas produce some of the very best food the UK has to offer.
For those who enjoy home cooking most of this is available through farmers markets and local village shops. For those who would rather leave it to the professionals, you will be tempted by an outstanding variety of fantastic restaurants from fine dining through a traditional Devon cream tea! So my advise is come and experience the lure of this glorious county - the scenery is spectacular and the food mouth-watering, delicious and if you are lucky the sun will shine and you will indeed have found the holiday of your dreams!
Just a 10 minute drive from the market town of Honiton, this is a great base to explore this beautiful region. Surrounded by the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty walkers will love to explore the countryside and woodland along designated pathways and bridleways. You will find a variety of mapped walks to choose from in the property, so don't forget to bring your walking boots.
Close by the village of Luppit, not quite within walking distance does have a pub, however Honiton has a fine selection of restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and coffee shops to enjoy. The town also has several antique shops so make sure you find time to browse you might pick up a bargain! There are also 3 out of town supermarkets, Tesco, Lidl and Aldi, plus a number of grocery stores in the town centre.
You have a choice of coastlines if you choose to stay here as the area is so accessible. You can be in the South Hams in less than 40 minutes, or the Torbay Coast in close to half an hour. Exmouth, a well-established family favourite seaside resort with its two miles of soft sands is also within easy reach, however I recommend you explore the Jurassic coastline, Sidmouth, Seaton, Beer are just a few of the beautiful coastal towns that make up this charismatic and diverse area of Devon and all within a half hours drive. A little further will take you to Lyme Regis and the Dorset coast.
Foodies will love this area as local produce is in abundance. Shop in Farmers markets or high street markets, or eat in some of the best restaurants, gastro pubs and beach cafes in the land. River Cottage Canteen at Axminster is less than a 15 minute drive and book ahead if you want to try the award winning River Cottage HQ.
