Montecastello stands in private grounds of mature oak and chestnut woodland and is skirted on two sides by crystal clear flowing streams sourced from the nearby Apennine Mountains which are presented as a panoramic view from the property's natural plateau. Situated in a beautiful part of north west Tuscany know as Lunigiana. This vibrant green land is steeped in history boasting more than one hundred castles and four distinctive season's. Montecastello is 'A place for all Season's', ideally located for the mountains and the Mediterranean throughout the year.

The Tuscany region
Montecastello is located in one of Tuscany's best kept secrets known as Lunigiana. In the north west beautiful part of Tuscany, this vibrant green land is steeped in history boasting more than 100 castles and has four distinctive season's.
Lunigiana / Licciana Nardi area
Montecastello is ideally located for the mountains and the mediterranean. Visit the five towns known as Cinque Terre on the Liguria coast or the harbour and city of La Spezia. Sun n swim at Lerici with sand beaches and small marina. This relaxed coastal resort a favourite of 'Shelly and Bryon' fondly referred to as 'The 'Gulf of Poets' hosts cafe's, bar's, ice-cream parlour's and restaurants. Spring time is a profusion of flora and fauna while walking and trekking the forests and hilltops. The Lunigiana wine route winds its way through un-spolit medieval villages. You can enjoy the many traditional local dishes within the summer months of the many 'festa's' abound with dances each weekend. For the ladies who love to shop, you will not be disappointed with the coastal town of Forte deo Marmi. Marble pavements escort you to 'The' Italian designer boutiques amongst sultry palm's and chic cafe' bar's . Gucci, Prada, versace, Armani just to name the obvious. Montecastello with its warm and comfoprtable interior is a magical venue for Christmas and new Year with log fires after a day on the local ski slopes. The well known cities of Lucca, Parma, Pisa, and Florence for the ultimate cultural experince, all within easy reach by road or rail.

Further details indoors: Walk through the 15th century arched doorway into the beautiful interior featuring chestnut beams, terracotta tiling and stone fireplace. The dining room with banqueting table seating 10 with ornate woodburner for those cooler winter months. Enter the 'Tuscan' style kitchen, at the base of the tower offering many amenity's. Adjacent is a quaint breakfast room with credenza accommodating cutlery and tableware. A spacious covered terrace with relaxing and comfortable seating to view the stunning scenery. The terrace overlooks the swimming pool and natural woodland. Bedrooms en-suite are individually styled all with mountain views.

At the rear of the house with total privacy lies the swimming pool. Available from May/June - Sept/Oct weather permitting. The pool area has a covered pergola to sit under out of the direct sunlight for 'al-frecoe' dining, whilst at night the pool and surrounds are lit for that cooling evening dip or simply just watch the 'firefly's' dance. Montecastello stands in its own private grounds of mature oak and chestnut woodland. The Apennine Mountains are presented as an uninterrupted view from the property's natural plateau, from this point there is also the peak of the local ski resort Prato Spilla. Ski-ing available in the winter and outdoor pursuits available all other season's.
