Lovely apartment in new building complex, very rurally located. The road leading to Bosco is breathtaking, both for its views and the narrow bends. A very helpful neighbour had been waiting for our arrival and showed us the property and was generally available for any advice. The flat was very clean and tidy, is well-equipped and very comfortable. The tight winding staircase is not suitable for people with mobility problems or small children or even very large suitcases. The stair leads into the twin room from which the double bed room is accessed via a sliding door. Both bedrooms are big with very comfy beds. The massive timber ceilings have skylights for illumination and quite low eaves. The apartment does not have any air conditioning but fans which was fine in September (it was quite hot). We loved the balcony and had all our meals out there, overlooking the gardens, pool and mountain scenery. Bosco itself is very quiet (apart from the bells which go off every half hour) and any shopping/entertainment requires a drive. We usually went to Luino, about 6 miles drive away. The town is very friendly with a lovely historic centre and much more 'real Italian' than the more tourist filled towns on the Piedmonte side of Lago Maggiore. There are lots of things to do nearby, both relaxing and active which we found preferable to our trips further afield as driving on the narrow winding roads can be quite stressful and is certainly not fast. |

You never really know what to expect when you arrive at a holiday apartment but we were pleasantly surprised with this clean and well furnished home in the hills, it was decorated to modern standards and has a very comfortable lounge, bathroom and bedrooms a spiral staircase may not suite some especially after sampling the local wines. The only draw back i can think of is the need of transport as the setting is rural and up steep hills. I really do hope to return in the not too distant future as the scenery is stunning and only a short drive to Switzerland and the mountains, happy days were had by one and all. |

We loved the apartment and its location inland away from other tourists and we made use of the excellent pool every day. It was nice being up the mountain looking across the valley and hearing the church bells ringing. There was everything we needed in the apartment and we enjoyed having meals on the balcony. We took boat trips from Luino to Cannera Riviera/Cannobio and also from Laveno to Intra and on to the islands. Stunning scenery everywhere we looked. Being close to the border we were able to go to Lugano in Switzerland - once to visit the town and the second day to drive round the lake on the Italian side to enjoy the spectacular views; we also drove to Bergamo and Lake Como. So much to see and do but we feel we've had a very relaxing time and seen some spectacular scenery. Many thanks for having such a nice apartment in such a lovely location. |
