Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Free, on site carp, bream & rudd fishing. Cot, highchair & stairgate on request. Off road parking for 3 cars. Lockable bike storage at owners’ house (2 mins walk). Lawned garden with patio, furniture & BBQ. 2 well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry no smoking. Shop 3 miles, pub 1.5 miles. Note: On-site fishing pond is fenced but please ensure children are supervised at all times. Note: There are 12 external steps from ground level up to front door.
The Heart of England / Peak District / Shropshire region
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
The Ludlow / Whitton area
The picturesque village of Whitton-Near-Ludlow lies nestled in the heart of the beautiful south Shropshire countryside. In an area renowned for its scenic walking and cycling trails, this lovely little village which is popular amongst hikers, boasts a quaint eleventh century church. The nearby hills of Clee, Caradoc and Long Mynd are always favourites amongst ramblers and in the local town of Ludlow, there are over five hundred listed buildings, as well as tea rooms and restaurants – four of which are Michelin starred – all offering a welcome respite from walking. As well as Ludlow, the village of Church Stretton is also nearby and is known to locals as ‘Little Switzerland’ for its scenic, hilltop views. With so much to see and do in the close vicinity, Whitton-Near-Ludlow, is a great holiday location for anyone looking to explore this beautiful region of Shropshire.

Guestbook for 1874 - The Wain House
The cottage was clean, warm, cosy and well equipped. The owners welcomed us and there was milk, tea, coffee waiting for us. The area around the cottage is delightful and the village is very quiet. The most relaxing holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.

,The property was excellent and the village was nice and quiet. It was a suitable base for the fishing and sight seeing we wished to do. Their own lakes were good and the small one had plenty of small fish to keep youngsters busy all day. The facilities were excellent and the owners were very accessible if required.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
