The accommodation also includes a large open plan living area with a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with the sofabed and a woodburner. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars, bike storage and a shared lawn plus its own gravelled sitting area in front of the cottage. Situated in beautiful countryside, yet close to a range of fascinating towns, Church House Barn is sure to appeal to all types of visitors.

It is a semi-detached property, clad in timber and still boasts exposed beam, trusses and wall timbers as part of its original charm. The living accommodation is arranged in an open-plan style and opens onto a shared lawn; perfect for a spot of outdoor-dining in the summer months. You can still enjoy all that the region has to offer during the colder seasons, as the property also has a wood-burner to warm you up after a bracing walk across the hills.

A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
The Ludlow / Richards Castle area
Richards Castle is a small village, steeped in history. The castle that gave its name to this small, ancient borough pre-dates the Norman Conquest by about 16 years, though when it was built it was thoroughly Norman in design. Today the fortress is reduced mainly to its earthworks and foundations. The bailey wall still stands twenty feet high in places and there are remains of several towers and an early gatehouse around the perimeter and now houses the Shropshire Regimental museum. As well as being a fantastic place of historic interest itself, there are many other attractions in the area. The surrounding Shropshire Hills have been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and are perfect for walking, cycling and wildlife-spotting. Other local attractions include Ludlow, with its lively programme of events & festivals, its famed architecture and its excellent restaurants and pubs. Nearby are the Secret Hills Discovery Centre, Stokesay Castle, National Trust properties and the Black & White Village Trail. Ironbridge, The Severn Valley Railway and Hay on Wye are all within easy reach.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
