This is a stone built cottage which was once part of farm buildings. There is attractive exposed stonework and beams. There are books, games and jigsaws to keep you amused as well as a wealth of information about the local area. We live close by and are always available to help with any questions you may have.
Outside there is direct access to the level, paved courtyard with herbaceaous borders with many 'cottage garden' flowers for all seasons. We garden organically and encourage wildlife to flourish here.

The Heart of England/Peak District
Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire are delightfully rural English counties in the west of the country. They are close to the border with Wales. The whole area is called The Marches. This area is rich in history with castles and battle sites in abundance. These days it provides an oasis of tranquility and is ideal for a relaxing short break or a longer holiday.
Hereford, Shrewsbury and Worcester are the main settlements. As well as with their beautiful cathedrals there is the world famous Mappa Mundi in Hereford and Worcester has a wonderful connection to the china industry. Ironbridge, the famous World Heritage Site, makes a great day visit as does the mid-Wales countryside.
The region is well known for excellent food and drink with many food festivals throughout the year. This is the main cider and perry producing area of England and the region also has a reputation for great local beers.
Ludlow is the nearest town and has been describe as the loveliest small town in England with its splendid architecture and picture postcard streets. In the centre of the town is the castle with a history going back to the Middle Ages. Ludlow is a food lovers paradise with excellent pubs and restaurants. The Food Festival in September each year attracts people from far and wide for a weekend of pure indulgence and fun.
Kit Cottage is just 7 miles from Ludlow on the outskirts of Leintwardine, a village on the Shropshire / Herefordshire border that was important in Roman times and is still a lively and thriving village today. There are two excellent restaurants as well as a nationally famous 'ale house' and a popular fish and chip shop. The village shop and local butchers are well stocked.
There are many other delightful villages and small market towns for visitors to explore as well as a wonderful network of footpaths making their way through farmland and woods. There local rivers offer excellent fishing and are full of wildlife.
