Le Perthuis is a small hamlet in La Bretonniere La Claye. The nearest town is Lucon which is just 15mins away by car. Here you can find all the necessary conveniences you may require. The bungalow is surrounded by beautiful countryside with idylic walking and cycling opportunities. The house is in an ideal location for a relaxing holiday as well as the option to explore the nearby Vendee coast and the many attractions such as the Puy du Fou, Futuroscope,La Rochelle, Indian forest as well as other historic sites of interest.
The bungalow has three bedrooms and is set in secure grounds of 1200m2. The standard of accommodation and finish is high. The property comes all- inclusive including bedding,services and has electric heating for out- of -season holiday periods.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region

The Vendee has its own micro climate which is mild and dry all year round. Temperatures range from an average 5 to10c in the winter rising to over 30c in the summer months.
The Vendee is rich in history and Lucon the local town is no exception to this. The local Cathedral was the the strong hold of Cardinal Richelieu. There are many places to visit in a radius of 30 miles of the house including fine beaches, historical sites, as well as other attractions.

The Lucon / Rosnay area

Places to visit :-
La Roche-sur- Yon is steeped in history dating back to the middle ages and is the capital of the Vendee. There are many shopping opportunities to be found here.
Les Sables d' Olonne - The largest seaside town in the Vendee with all the trappings of a sophisticated holiday resort. It has a magnificent sandy beach.
Lucon - Charming historical town. The town has listed gardens which are said to be the finest in France. The centre piece of the town is the magnificent Gothic cathederal. Additional attractions include the local market and swimming pool.
La Faute- sur-Mer - Nestling amongst the dunes this fishing port and marina are ideal for many varied activities.There is a long beach with many footpaths and cycle tracks. During the summer there are many organised events including festivals,street theatre and music.
La Rochelle - Historic port with many winding streets and excellent restaurants.
Le Puy du Fou - A historical theme park with a cast of over 1000 performers.

“Great holiday” Graet holiday, very relaxing with all the facilaties you need. Good location with shops nearby as well as numerous beaches. House was well presented and set up to easily sleep 6 people. Pleanty of activities provided if you are a family. A real bolt hole for a proper relaxing holiday but plenty of activity nearby if you require it.

“fantastic holiday!” thoroughly enjoyed the stay in the house! found the amenities very pleasing. House is ideal for family, our kids loved it, even our teenage son. Hope to return again.

“Disappointing stay, will not return” Stayed for one week. No welcome at holiday home. We contacted the representative regarding the pool as unsure if filter/pump was working properly. Rep called to house and was rude and annoyed we contacted her - asking were we pool experts. Did not introduce herself, did not ask if we were happy with the house and left us feeling very angry. Stayed in France last year and had a completely welcoming experience by rental owners. House could do with updating and a friendly welcome for paying guests. Response: Details and terms of the holiday are provided before bookings taken. We are not at the property when guests arrive as we operate a key safe.The property is regularly updated and again this year we have carried out improvements. I agree that the person looking after the house for us at this time caused problems and as a result we let her go and now have new professional management in place. I have to say that in 7 years of letting our house we have never had complaints before (See visitor book at house). The comments made by this couple do not reflect the 99% of clients who stay at our house, many of whom come back year after year.
