Chateau De La Lanette is a lovingly restored home away from home, providing you with all the comforts you would expect from a 19th century Chateau. An extremely spacious 3 storey building with elegant features such as marble columns and balconies, original parquet flooring throughout and a fantastic sweeping staircase through the middle of the house.

Perfect for a relaxing family holiday, with all your needs catered for. A perfect haven for outdoor fanatics, ideally located for walking,hiking, cycling, ski-ing and many other outdoor pursuits. If history and culture are your passion there is also plenty to do and explore. We are extremely family friendly, we have a fantastic children with large sandpit, 14ft trampoline, climbing frames, swings etc.

Now taking bookings for Xmas and New Year breaks, fully catered weeks from 690 euros for 2 adults. Price includes large room with en suite, stunning views of mountains, continental breakfasts and 3 course meal with wine served on 5 nights. Discounted rates for children.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Hautes-Pyrenees region

Stunning location with mountains to explore all around. A beautiful year round location, spring comes early bringing with it the opportunity to eat lunch outdoors in the month of February! Warm summers, continuing into early October, make it perfect for exploring or for lazy days in the garden. Autumn is a fantastic time for walkers and hikers, the weather is good and the colours are breathtaking. Of course winters are perfect for skiers and walkers. It can be cold but even in December the skies are blue.

Luchon / Salechan area

A walkers and hikers paradise, with some of the best walking in the Pyrenees at your doorstep. We are also extremely well placed for cyclists wishing to follow the route the Tour De France took last year. The Port de Bales, Col de Portillon, Col Des Ares to name a few are all within 20 minutes from here.

We have 5 ski resorts to choose from within an hours radius. The closest resort of Le Moutis is just 25 mins from our door and provides a perfect location for begginers and champions alike! You can also try snow walking and dog sledging here.

If watersports are your passion we have rafting, canoeing, canyoning, fishing all within easy reach. You may wish to try gliding or parapenting, where better to experience the thrill than the top of Superbagneres just 20 mins from here.

There are plenty of cultural and historical areas to explore too. We are just 10 minutes away from St Bertrand de Comminges and its stunning cathedral and roman ruins.

The beautiful Metropolitain town of Luchon is just 20 kms drive away. Here you will find many of the activities mentioned, beautiful parks, and many things for the children including crazy golf, playgrounds, outdoor swimming pool. Every year in august there is a fantastic flower festival held here with floats made entirely of flowers parading the streets and many other activities going on.

There are plenty of parks in the area for children and a large adventure park is just 5 mins away.

How to get there

Ideally located at the foothills of the Pyrennees. We are currently served by Pau Airport just 117 kms away with daily flights from London Stanstead and Bristol on Ryanair.

We are also 120 kms from the ever expanding Toulouse Airport with several flights a day from the UK including Easy Jet from Bristol and London Gatwick and British Airways from London Gatwick.

The St Julien bedroom has a private balcony which opens out to views of the Pyrenees, original parquet flooring,marble fireplace,and fantastically detailed high ceiling.A beautiful 4 poster bed makes this a wonderfully romantic room.The en suite has a bath,shower, heated towel rail and looks onto the garden, it too has doors which can open out to the private balcony.

The Pic Du Gar room is spacious and tastefully decorated making it a favourite with our guests. It has a large en suite with shower and heated towel rail and doors which open out onto its private balcony, offering breathtaking views of The Pic Du Gar opposite.

Both of these rooms can accommodate a cot and extra bed if needs be.

The garden room is a double room at the back of the house with doors which lead out over a little bridge into the extensive gardens. Perfect for taking morning coffee in the summer. The room is tastefully decorated in a subtle pink and has an tiled en suite with shower and heated towel rail.

The Village Room is so named for the stunning views of our village which can be seen from this room. A twin room which can easily accommodate another bed or cotit is situated at the back of the house. It has the added attraction of doors which open out to a bridge which leads you to out beautiful gardens. The room has en suite with toilet, washbain, shower, heated towel rail and complimentary toiletries.

We welcome you to breakfast and if you wish evening meal in our beautifully wood panelled and extremely spacious dining room, again with beautifully carved wooden fireplace and original parquet flooring. Here you will find complimentary tea and cofee, a large fridge,and microwave.

Our Salon provides a perfect haven in which to relax at the end of your day,with 2 large sofas, satellite TV receiving english channels and a wonderful open log fire.

Our extensive gardens are yours to be enjoyed. We have a 14ft trampoline with safety net, a small above ground pool perfect for the children, swings and a sandpit.

The gardens are large enough to escape the children's area should you wish . We have views of the mountains from every angle of the garden making it a perfect haven for relaxing and reading a book or taking an appertif on warm summer evenings.

For those bringing skis or cycles we have an outdoor area for safe storage.
