About the home

Casa Guinigi is located on the first floor of a small building with only 2 other units. The apartment is about 90 sqm. or 900 square feet and well divided. Enter into the long hallway which leads to the spacious eat-in kitchen and onto a terrace that overlooks a large garden.

The large master bedroom furnished with elegant furniture and draperies is on the other end of the hall. Modern bathroom with stall shower, sink, toilet and bidet. The second bedroom includes one single bed. An extra cot can be added if requested in advance. All windows look onto the garden and the apartment has very good sun exposure. There is a small area near the kitchen with the clothes washer. A comfortable sofa is in the good size living room.

The apartment is located near the music conservatory so it is not uncommon to hear beautiful music coming from there.

The apartment can be rented for a minimum of one week or longer periods. The apartment is very close to everything in Lucca. One of the delights is going to the nearby bakery to buy some of the great focaccia and the many kinds of breads. Or go to the small farmers' market in Piazza del Carmine. Stop to have a great espresso and chat with the locals. Rent a bike and enjoy the city even more. No need for a car while you are in Lucca.

There is an extra room on the ground floor of the building which can be used to put bicycles, extra suitcases or anything else needed for extrra space.
As the apartment is located in ZTL (limited traffic area) autos are not allowed except those with permits. If car transportation to the apartment is necessary, only public taxis are allowed. This can be arranged with the apartment manager but paid for by guests.
A 50 euro final cleaning fee is to be paid by guests to apartment manager on arrival. An introductory walking tour of Lucca is offered to the guests by the apartment manager.

The apartment is located in the heart of the city. Only a steps from the famous Guinigi Tower, Amphitheatre, Via Fillungo main shopping street, cafes, restaurants, bike rentals, shopping. There are many food shops located all around the city to cook those great Italian meals.

Bicycling is the best and most fun way to go around Lucca. There are many bike rental shops located within the city center.

Easy to reach from the Pisa International Airport or Florence Airport. From Pisa Airport, train service to Lucca. Train service to Lucca from major train stations such as Pisa and Florence. Bus and train transportation very frequent to the coast and other areas of Tuscany and Cinque Terre area. Public transportation is reliable so car is not really necessary.

“Wonderful apt. in great location inside the wall. Great, longer term rate.” I stayed here for six weeks, mainly as a base for doing lots of wonderful bicycle riding around Tuscany. Loved being in it. Great location. Very quiet. It is up a flight of stairs from the street level, but there are people/floors above. Short, dead-ended street for cars, so no traffic. Wonderful restaurants close by, including my favorite pizzeria/gelateria 50m away. Short walk to the busy shopping and piazzas. Has a great porch off the kitchen, where can enjoy a beautiful, green courtyard . . . looking down at it from the Guinigi Tower you can see it has the most garden and yard space around. And fun looking up at the Tower which is about one block away. Deborah of Lucca Holiday Homes and Isa of Tuscan Holidays were easy to work with. Deborah picked me up at the train station and drove me and my luggage to the apt, which was very convenient.

This will be returned to guests after checking for any damage or breakage or extra costs. To ensure booking, a 30% deposit must be made either through bank transfer (bonifico) or check. Balance to be paid one month prior to arrival.
