About the home

The apartment is part of an oil-mill of 16th century which was restored and transformed into a residence with 6 flats and a cottage, by maintaining however the original rustic characteristics, in particular the ceilings supported by the typical wood-beams. The furniture is in tuscan country style with cotto floors and ceilings of bricks and wood-beams. The big park is surrounded by olive trees and cypresses in a typical tuscan landscape
The area is very green with several kind of plants typical of the region such as lemon trees, orange trees, bay, geraniums and others.

Further details outdoors:
All through the park (4000 quarry metres) runs a flowing stream that provided the power to operate the mill. Nowadays it has been cxovered by a metal grill to prevent people to accidentally falls. The park is completely enclosed and children can run and play with absolute security Guests can seat in the shadow at the several tables with chairs and umbrellas.
Pool (6x12) is open from April to November and provided with towels, umbrellas, deck-chairs, a shower, a toilet. In the park there is children playground, tennis-table, basket.
Barbecue and oven for pizza are at guests disposal.

The Tuscany / Lucca Province region

Versilia means wonderful sea, mild climate, hundreds of kilometres of sandy beaches in the shade of enormous cool pine forests, alternating with beautiful cliffs. A paradise, but with an essence that is not easy to understand unless you move away from the blue sea to explore the green and ochre of the hinterland, with its millenary history forged by powerful nature, in search of the hidden village inhabited by simple, genuine folk. And this is Massarosa.

Located at the foot of the hills, the territory consists of Lake Massaciuccoli, cherished and celebrated by the famous composer Giacomo Puccini as well as a hilly area cultivated with vineyards and olive groves which, along with the home cooking of its restaurants, make it a haven of peace, ideal to spend a holiday away from the bustling life at the beach.

The Lucca area

Small panoramic villages, hidden in the shadow of silver hued olive trees are visible: Mommio Castello, Corsanico, Bargecchia, Balbano, Pieve a Elici, the Gualdo and Montigiano peaks. At Massaciuccoli there are the ruins of a Roman villa with a small museum containing findings dating from the 2nd cent. BC and the Natural Park with several kinds of birth.

The most important cities: Lucca 7 km - Pisa 20 km - Florence 80 km - Siena 150 km - Carrara quarries 25 km - 5 Lands by boat (2 hours crossing) - Puccini Festival at Torre del Lago 10 km - Apuan Alps with Garfagnana Region 30 km. A wide choice of sports is available, from swimming to playing tennis or golfing, biking, trekking, horse riding.. Moreover, you can enjoy sea, lake and mountain tours with a wide range of destination .

To reach us from Pisa Airport take A12 direction Genova - Exit Viareggio - A11 Lucca/Firenze - Exit Massarosa - Turn left direction Massarosa/Lucca/Quiesa on the SS439 Sarzanese/Valdera crossing Bozzano till Quiesa (about 4 km). After the street signal "QUIESA" drive the same road for another km. You will find an indication of the Residence 50 metres before reaching it on your right side. Residence "Frantoio del Monte" is at 2989 on the left

“Great hospitality” The apartment (one of 4 or 5 in the property) is on the first floor and is nicely kept. The owners who live on site are fanastically helpful and keep the place spotless. The shared pool was lovely.... more
