Guest feedback:

"We really enjoyed staying in the apartment. It is quiet and very conveniently placed for exploring Lucca. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. It was very nice to have some outdoor space too. The only faults were that the sofa and armchair were lumpy and we would have liked some instructions so we could have used the free-view/sat TV box. I would recommend the apartment to friends as long as they were fit enough to climb the stairs.

We love Lucca, it is full of character and gave us a chance to relax after a very busy time exploring Florence. While we were in Lucca we went to two different performances of opera put on by the Puccini e la sua Lucca at the shurch of San Giovanni and they made our visit to Lucca really special. "Absolutly great. A lovely terasse and a beautiful apartment.

We love Lucca (I have been there three times and will be back in August). It is a quiet city and a treasure when it comes to culture. Inexpensive clothes and wonderful opera conserts". 4 July 2011.

"Lovely - great location, beautiful apartment, which was well equipped.

Beautiful - this was our 3rd time in Lucca and we will visit again." 31 Aug 2011

The Tuscany region

The tiny old town of Lucca has a particular charm that you hardly will find elsewhere. The city wall of Lucca has preserved its art treasures nearly intact and prevented that these could be altered in the course of the time. Besides the historic sites, Lucca is also well known for being the hometown of the musician Giacomo Puccini, whose operas are famous worldwide. The whole year round the city centre hosts cultural events (concerts, exhibitions, etc.) inspired by its works. Just 25 km from the centre lies Torre del Lago, where Puccini spent most of its life. Today the area organizes an open air theatre where the Festival Pucciniano takes place during the summer. Lucca offers lots of wonderful attractions that will make your holiday unforgettable

Lucca is a vibrant lively town all year round. There are markets at the weekend including the vary famous antique market which draws antique lovers from far and wide. In the summer months films are shown under the starry night in one of the beautiful piazzas and there are musical outdoor concerts.Lucca offers lots of wonderful attractions that will make your holiday unforgettable. There are lots of bike hire shops scattered around the town where you can hire a bike and enjoy the wonderful ride around Lucca and its city wall.

Lucca is a small city rich in art and culture and well-known as the jewel of Tuscany

Lucca is one of the few towns which has maintained its town walls intact. These walls surround the historic centre with its many churches, towers, palaces, museums, traditional boutiques and characteristic lanes. It is forbidden to drive by car on the wall, therefore it is really beautiful place for walking and cycling. From the walls you have magnificent views onto the architectural beauties of the town and the rolling surrounding hills.

Lucca still seems today like a labyrinth of squares and lanes which get narrower and more concealed the closer one gets to the heart of the centre. Visitors to Lucca not only admire the historic beauties of the town but can also indulge their palates in the mouth-watering local specialities. One can go shopping in the Via Fillungo (the most famous shopping mile of the centre) where stylish shops, antique shops, coffee bars and “trattorias” characterize the townscape.

Very near to the Fillungo is the place drama lovers went to the theatre during the period of the Romans. Centuries later houses were built on the foundations of this imperial theatre and so the oval shaped “Piazza del Anfiteatro” was born. This square is one of the most picturesque in the whole of Italy and one of the most well- known in the whole world. It is a “must” for every tourist because you can still see the remains of the original town wall.
