The Tuscany region
Tuscany iis a marvellous region with very nice lanscape, historical tows, secret places just round the corner. Just pick up your car, take a road and go you will always find a fascinating, amazing small village with it's own beautiful church, old mansions a tipycal bar and have a good glass of local wine or a "trattoria" where you can still eat the fantastic local food. More..the weel known town of Firenze, Siena, Pisa and Lucca, the museums, the churches, the old mansion spread in the country side or enjoy the Versilia beaches and the night life in Forte de Marmi. the marble cave of Carrara.
Lucca area
Lucca is a picturesque fortress town that keeps intact the wall fence around the town. Lucca still has a mind of its town. Beautiful churches, beautiful mansions, beautiful shops. Just walk or rent a bike and wander around those very marrow medieval streets and you will enjoy every corner. Within the city walls the famous composer Giacomo Puccini was born and during the summer he is celebrated, along with his peers, during the summer and in 2008 there will be very special events for the 150 years of his birthday. Wandering around Lucca and you will discover the magnificent "Ville Lucchesi", in an hour you reach the mountain, in less time the beaches. In a word Lucca can please anybody and fulfil your expectations.
How to get there
VILLA PIEVE is located 13 km. north of Lucca in the country side. If you arrive by plane the closest airport is PISA (Ryanair) about 40 minutes, Florence airport (1hour) at both airport you can rent a car (Hertz or Europcar). By train the closest train station is Lucca. By motorway A11 exit Lucca (east or west doesn't make any difference) then follow the direction SS12 Abetone/Garfagnana. Marlia is on the way.

At the ground floor main entrance hall, living room, another small living room with the original fireplace, spacious fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and dining area for 10 people a door leads onto the garden in front of the covered patio for dining "al fresco". At the first floor, two master bedrooms: one with private terrace, one with "mandolato" walls and beaned ceiling, Three bedrooms with twin beds. Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom, with bathtube or shower and closet. Facilities include washing machine, dishwasher, five burner gas stove, electrical ove, microwave, frigo/freezer, coffee machine, iron board, TCV, Internet WiFi, cots and high chairs on request. Plenty of garden furnitues, sun beds, BBQ. Antiques furnitures, ceiling fans in all the bedrooms, screen nets in all the windows.
Further details outdoors: VILLA PIEVE is located in a perfect spot combining peace and quiet with a wealth of cultural activities and visits to the Versilia beaches (30Km). All around large fiels, wood, olives groves and vineyards. The backtrop of the "Lucca's Hill" behind the property is truly memorable and in the neighbourhood the magnificence of the "Ville Lucchesi" country residence of Lucca's noble family, in a word the location is in the most privilegedarea around Lucca. Special events: July "Summer Festival" with the performance of the biggest singers and bands of the world. August: Puccini Opera Festival,.
