The Tuscany region
Tuscany offers a mild climate the whole year round and especially the area of Massaciuccoli is know for its soft winters. Orange and lemon trees are here in every garden together with the olive trees producing a first quality oil. This part of Tuscany is not as well know as the area round Sienna and therefor offers the possibility to leave the well known track and discover small villages and typical restaurants . However it is still only an hour away from Florence and Sienna. The coast here offer sandy beaches and Genova with its sea acquarium is only 50 min away. Le Cinque Terre can visited by boat from Viareggio and we offer the possibility to rent a salingboat with skipper to visit the nearby dolphin colony. The marble quarries are visible from the beaches and some are open to the public.
Lucca area
Lucca with its famous walls sits like a jewel to be discovered. The town has everything but is still small enough to give you that home feeling. Ideal for a shopping spree and relaxing afterwards on one of the many terraces or dine in one of the excellent restaurants. We organise guided tours of the city to discover its legends and myths, the antique shops, the oldest bakery etc.. September is the tradional month of festivities with the famous fair for stripbooks Comix and the procession of "Il Volto Santo" on the evening of the 13th of September where the whole city is lit only by candels to evoke the medieval atmosphere.
