About the home

Most of our guests, ( and many of them came back several times) loved our apartment because of the feeling of being in a family home, more than just in a tourist apartment. It was our family home before moving to the country, and we still love it.

The apartment is located close to Via Fillungo, the main tourist road within the walls of Lucca, but still in a quiet area.

Train and bus stations are not far away (max 20 min walking) and there are very good connections to Florence (50 min by bus), Pisa (less than 20 min) and many other interesting destinations in Toscana.

Cinque Terre is not too far away, you can get there by train (that is the only way!) in about an hour and a half.

But we really hope you will spend part of your holiday just walking around and realizing that Lucca by itself is one of the best towns to visit in Toscana, and one of the best for good food and good wine.

Music lovers too will enjoy staying in the town of the birth of Giacomo Puccini and his concerts are performed in Lucca almost daily throughout the summer season.

We are 'family oriented', so we can provide a cot or a folding bed to add an extra bed. We offer this possibility only to a family, we consider the apartment comfortable for no more than four adults.

Private parking is not usually available within the walls of Lucca, however there is public parking within 100 metres for a fee within the walls or, there is free safe parking just outside the walled area of the town.

We advise all guests that we cannot consider the apartment suitable for wheelchair users or restricted mobility guests, because of the stairs to the apartment which are very steep.

Whenever possible I am happy to collect for free our guests flying into Pisa upon their arrival at the airport.

The Tuscany / Lucca Province region

Books have been written about Tuscany, probably the Italian area most visited by foreign tourists. Toscana is famous for its incomparable artistic treasures embedded in beautiful natural surroundings.
Lucca province, in the North West part of Toscana, is close to Pisa and Liguria (Cinque Terre) an area of outstanding beauty.
Lucca province includes both a beach area and a mountain one.
Just 20 minutes away from Lucca you will find the famous Versilias beaches, while in the North the Garfagnana mountains area is well worth a visit.

I would describe Lucca as a charming town and not just a tourist destination as unfortunately many Toscana towns have become.
You are sure to enjoy our way of life and probably, as many of our guests have already done, you will give up some of your plans to visit destinations around Lucca and will simply enjoy spending time walking in town, having an espresso or a glass of local wine in one of our many comfortable bars, relaxing and thinking about the day.

Lucca is just 20 km away from Pisa international airport, with many Ryanair and other low cost companies flying in and out every day ( http://www.pisa-airport.com/index.php?lang=_en).
It is easy to get to Lucca by train or by bus, and our apartment is just 15 min walk away from both the train or bus station.
If you are driving to Lucca, our apartment is just five minutes away from Lucca East motorway exit.
