The cottage has been recently careful transformed into a unique exclusive holiday house. It is situated on the northern hills around the plain of Lucca close the characteristic village of Segromigno in Monte, whose church is a Romanesque parish from the twelfth century. It enjoys a strategic position to look down on the plain as well as be a departure point to reach many interesting places to visit around Tuscany. It joins heritage, quiet and typical Tuscan landscape. You will surely have a nice time here. It is the perfect choice for families, groups of friends,sport-team.The panoramic road that runs through small towns and villages reaching the Pizzorne mountains, give you the opportunity for biking, footing or mountain-biking.

The Tuscany region

A most important city of art of Tuscany is Florence. It is only 40 minutes drive far from Casa Mennone. Place of interest are: The Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Churches,Piazzale Michelangelo and Viale dei Colli, which dominate the whole city of Florence. Other attractions of Florence are Uffizi Museum, Ponte Vecchio and "Lungarno", the way beside Arno river, where you can find lots of stalls and buy souvenirs. Pisa is about 30 minutes' drive far and a one-day stay in Pisa could include a visit to the world-famous Piazza dei Miracoli with its extraordinary monuments: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Churchyard and the Leaning Tower. Siena is about one hour's drive away. It is very famous for its "Palio" (horses ride) and Chianti wine. Its streets are narrow and medieval and there is a single church each "Contrada ". Places of interest are: Piazza del Campo, the Cathedral, Fortezza Medicea.

Lucca / Piana di Lucca area

Lucca,only 8 km far from Casa Mennone, is one of the most beautiful towns in Tuscany and it is very famous for its perfectly preserved town walls, for its churches and important monuments, such as San Martino Cathedral, San Michele and San Frediano Churches, the Amphitheatre Square, Guinigi Tower and Torre delle Ore ( where you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lucca plain). The most important street of Lucca is called Via Fillungo and it is well known for its elegant shops. In Porta Giannotti just inside the city centre it is possible to hire bicycles to ride around the walls(a track about 4 km. long), among trees, green and ancient ruins. Lucca has got a monthly antiques market (on3rd Saturday / Sunday of each month)and an ordinary market twice a week (Wednesday and Saturday mornings). In September Lucca hosts a village fair and just outside the city centre you can find an amusement park. The typical cake of Lucca is called "Buccellato".Its oil is excellent and its wine very tasty.
Very interesting the surrounding of Lucca, the Versilia beach, the Garfagnana valley, the SPA of Montecatini Terme.By train from Lucca it is possible to make trips to " Le Cinque Terre"(Liguria") and Elba Island.

Mennone house is 40 minutes far from Pisa airport that is served by 16 airlines.

The railway terminal is close to the airport,(less 40 metres of covered walkway).Connection to Lucca about every hour.
The bus terminus is located just outside the departures area. The "Vai Bus by Autolinee F.lli Lazzi will connect Pisa airport to Lucca.

The property consists of a Farmhouse and a recently renovated Farmstead, plunged in vineyards and olive groves, among quiet and green. In the Farmhouse, on the ground floor, there are a small living room with sofa and armchairs, a big dining room with table and fireplace and with direct access to the kitchen furnished with five ring stoves, oven, microwave oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There are also a bathroom with shower, furnished WC/bidet and washing machine, On the first floor you can find a big living room with sofas and armchairs and TV with cable, 4 double bedrooms, a bedroom with French bed, , a bathroom with bath and shower and another bath with two showers. The rustic-style farmhouse has got girder ceiling. In the Farmstead at the ground floor there are a living room with sofa and TV with cable, one bedroom with access to the terrace and 0ne bathroom. On the first floor there are 2 bathrooms with shower, 2 double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. The furnishing are in rustic style with some antique furniture and iron beds. Every bedroom benefits from hot and cold air conditioning.

Mennone is surrounded by a large lawn (4000 m2)where is a private parking. The round swimming pool (10 meters diameter) overlooks the Lucca plains. The outdoor space is equipped with sun beds, two wooden tables, two barbecue and a slide for the children. On one side of the house there is an old wooden where they used to make bread- perfect for pizza. There is a service room with washing machine and a fridge.

Conditions

Cleaning and linen change at the end of your holiday are included in the price, however. if you book for two weeks, a mid term towel and linen change is included but not the house clean. On request cleaning help is available. Saturday is both the day of arrival and the day of departure.
