About the home
My beautiful holiday apartment with its own garden is really one of the best accommodation to enjoy the magic of this wonderful city of art.
It is centrally located in the cathedral area, right by an access path leading to the Walls, very close to everything and just facing the famous Walls which enjoys a stunning view.
The apartment (90 square meters) can comfortably accommodate 5 people. It is on the first floor (from the street to the entrance there are only 3 steps to climb) of an ancient palace which thick stone walls keep the rooms cool on even the hottest days.
The apartment is quiet and bright. The windows face south west looking onto the gardens and east to the attractive Rosa square. From the windows you can enjoy also a beautiful outlook over towards the Walls.
There is an elegant sitting room with useful “library” with lots of tourist information and books in various languages, a well equipped spacious kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a bedroom with a king size bed, an extra large bedroom with a king size and a single bed, and an utility room with washing machine and sink.
Cot and highchair are available.
The apartment has the exclusive use of its walled garden , which is furnished with table, chairs, sunbed and barbecue.
This is a fantastic place to relax admiring the famous Walls, get a suntan, drink an aperitif and enjoy a leisurely meal. Smoking is permitted in the garden.
The Lucca train station is in the other side of the massive (3 miles long, twelve metres high and thirty wide) Walls and is reachable in a few minutes walk that means you do not need a car and allows for day excursions to Pisa, Florence, Viareggio, etc.

The Tuscany / Lucca Province region

From the Etruscans to the Romans to the Renaissance, Tuscany is possibly the greatest repository of art in the world, from extraordinary paintings and sculpture to frescoes and architectural masterpieces.
Visitors to Tuscany come for many reasons. Many come in search of fine art, others to explore the extraordinary countryside. Gourmets and wine buffs descend on Tuscany to enjoy the simple yet wonderful cuisine and wine. Walkers enjoy the mountain paths, cyclists the rolling hills, summer vacationers the sea coast and islands. Students come to learn the beautiful Italian language and culture.
There is a lot to see and do in Tuscany, the more you come to know the region, the more extraordinary Tuscany appears.
Tuscany was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and its artistic heritage includes architecture, painting and sculpture, collected in dozens of museums, the best-known of which is the Uffizi and the Bargello in Florence, but also in many other towns and cities in the region.
Tuscany is a charmed land, equally blessed by the genius of man and nature, and often by the combined efforts of both. Think of the vineyards: rows of baby green vines that manage somehow to march in arrow-straight formation up the gently rolling hillsides, bounded by single files of darker green cypress trees, snaking sandy roads leading to rust-coloured farmhouses and moss-coated castles, symmetrically rounded hilltops surmounted by towns so homogeneous as to seem one single building. Every inch of land has been sculpted, first by the elements and then by generations of inhabitants whose goals were always twofold: make the land produce as much as possible, make the land as beautiful as possible
Lucca is centrally located, which makes getting to the places listed below very easy-

The Lucca area
'Lucca – Tuscany’s Jewel City - is a romantic, medieval town rich in the arts.'
It is the capital of the province of the same name in northwestern Tuscany. It is an important city for art and traditional culture, presenting a vital historic centre of extraordinary value, which has conserved, almost intact, the compact urban network of houses, towers, medieval churches, Renaissance palaces and 19th-century piazzas. Lucca is one of the few towns which has maintained intact its superb 16 C City Walls which protectingly encircle it, a charming place to stroll among the trees and grassy banksancient town walls intact.
Lucca City of a thousand faces and of an intriguing and discreet charm which is there to be discovered and increasingly appreciated as one gets to know the city better
Lucca city of great artists, of immortal composers such as Boccherini, Catalani and Puccini
Lucca with its is shop windows which testify the flourishing continuity of mercantile business dating from past centuries and never forgotten; with the streets of its town centre where the traditions are renewed every day offering a variety of wines, gastronomic, handmade and local products, with its Antiques Market, one of the most important and oldest in Tuscany the 3rd weekend of each month.
Lucca with its monuments, squares, fountains, museums;with its tranquil medieval town centre in great part pedestrian, with its theatre, the Teatro del Giglio and its esteemed seasons of opera, prose, orchestral music and dance; with its important cultural events such as the Comics Revue and the Summer Festival, the traditional ones such as the Procession of Santa Croce during the city's September festivities, or the Flower Market dedicated to S, Zita in April; win the sure knowledge that you can walk through the city at any time in complete safety.
Lucca is a city which offers the tourist attractions of historic interest and natural beauty, with one of the oldest botanical gardens and which is also the ideal place to stop and stay for a few days to get to know it better and to give one the chance to see how easy it is to get to, by train, road or motorway, the other cities of historical fame, the Versilia Riviera or the pleasant resorts of the Mediavalle and the Garfagnana
It’s impossible to describe Lucca and its beautiful surroundings in a few words. It would be nice to start your visit by walking , travelling in a horse drawn carriage or riding a bicycle on the powerful romantic walls (3 miles long, twelve metres high and thirty wide) enjoying the incredible view of the town rich in churches precious as jewels and brimming with ancient towers and buildings. Strolling along the shady downtown streets, one can breathe the true atmosphere of Lucca and enjoy the reserved but courteous character of the Lucchese. In the narrow streets, lined with ancient shops and artisans’ studios, the daily life of the city is palpable, hard working and lively.

We had a lovely holiday in Lucca and we enjoyed your apartment. The best
features for us were the convenient position and the outlook over towards the walls.
We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay in your apartment and in Lucca
– it was great for us to have a garden! Your flat was perfectly situated for trips in all directions and allowed us to get to know Lucca itself that bit better.
Daniela, We LOVED your apartment. The location is perfect. A five minute walk to the train station and we can see so much of Italy in a half hour train ride. Staying in your Lucca apartment is our favourite vacation ever. Thank you very much.
We loved the apartment and of course, we loved Lucca. The "low density" of tourists was also appreciated. Each of us will definitely come back, we are already spreading the message about Lucca & your apartment. .
-I have just returned to Tasmania and went back to work today....it was a bit of a shock! Trish and Nettie and I had a very good holiday, we often spoke about our wonderful time in "our" apartment in Lucca. Thankyou
- Thank you for your very nice apartment, which we loved.
The apartment is very spacious and had all the equipment you could need and good security.
You can really enjoy using the kitchen and can be able to cook complete meals with plenty of preparation and service pieces.
We had a wonderful time in Lucca and hope to be able to stay again in your apartment.
- We had a lovely time in Lucca. We found plenty to do, and the apartment was lovely. It was very close to everything. I will recommend it to friends and family, and if we ever are coming back to Lucca, we shall try to get the same apartment. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, one we will remember for a long time.
