About the home
My beautiful apartment with its own garden is really one of the best accommodation to enjoy the magic of this wonderful city of art.
It is centrally located in the cathedral area, right by an access path leading to the Walls, very close to everything and just facing the famous Walls which enjoys a stunning view.
The apartment (90 square meters) can comfortably accommodate 5 people. It is on the first floor (from the street to the entrance there are only 3 steps to climb) of an ancient palace which thick stone walls keep the rooms cool on even the hottest days.
The apartment is quiet and bright. The windows face south, west and east looking onto the gardens enjoy also a beautiful outlook over towards the Walls.
There is an elegant sitting room with useful “library” with lots of tourist information and books in various languages, a well equipped spacious kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a bedroom with a king size bed, an extra large bedroom with a king size and a single bed, and an utility room with washing machine and sink.
Cot, highchair and fans are available.
The apartment has the exclusive use of its walled garden , which is furnished with table, chairs, sunbed and barbecue.
This is a fantastic place to relax admiring the famous Walls, get a suntan, drink an aperitif and enjoy a leisurely meal. Smoking is permitted in the garden.
The Lucca train station is in the other side of the massive (3 miles long, twelve metres high and thirty wide) Walls and is reachable in a very few minutes walk that means you do not need a car and allows for day excursions to Pisa, Florence, Viareggio, etc.

Enquire nowThe Tuscany / Lucca Province region
From the Etruscans to the Romans to the Renaissance, Tuscany is possibly the greatest repository of art in the world, from extraordinary paintings and sculpture to frescoes and architectural masterpieces.
Visitors to Tuscany come for many reasons. Many come in search of fine art, others to explore the extraordinary countryside. Gourmets and wine buffs descend on Tuscany to enjoy the simple yet wonderful cuisine and wine. Walkers enjoy the mountain paths, cyclists the rolling hills, summer vacationers the sea coast and islands. Students come to learn the beautiful Italian language and culture.
There is a lot to see and do in Tuscany, the more you come to know the region, the more extraordinary Tuscany appears.
Tuscany was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and its artistic heritage includes architecture, painting and sculpture, collected in dozens of museums, the best-known of which is the Uffizi and the Bargello in Florence, but also in many other towns and cities in the region.
Tuscany is a charmed land, equally blessed by the genius of man and nature, and often by the combined efforts of both. Think of the vineyards: rows of baby green vines that manage somehow to march in arrow-straight formation up the gently rolling hillsides, bounded by single files of darker green cypress trees, snaking sandy roads leading to rust-coloured farmhouses and moss-coated castles, symmetrically rounded hilltops surmounted by towns so homogeneous as to seem one single building. Every inch of land has been sculpted, first by the elements and then by generations of inhabitants whose goals were always twofold: make the land produce as much as possible, make the land as beautiful as possible
Lucca is centrally located, which makes getting to the places listed below very easy-

Lucca is one of the few towns which has maintained intact its superb 16 C City Walls which protectingly encircle it, a charming place to stroll among the trees and grassy banksancient town walls intact.
Lucca City of a thousand faces and of an intriguing and discreet charm which is there to be discovered and increasingly appreciated as one gets to know the city better
Lucca city of great artists, of immortal composers such as Boccherini, Catalani and Puccini

Lucca is a city which offers the tourist attractions of historic interest and natural beauty, with one of the oldest botanical gardens and which is also the ideal place to stop and stay for a few days to get to know it better and to give one the chance to see how easy it is to get to, by train, road or motorway, the other cities of historical fame, the Versilia Riviera or the pleasant resorts of the Mediavalle and the Garfagnana
It’s impossible to describe Lucca and its beautiful surroundings in a few words. It would be nice to start your visit by walking , travelling in a horse drawn carriage or riding a bicycle on the powerful romantic walls (3 miles long, twelve metres high and thirty wide) enjoying the incredible view of the town rich in churches precious as jewels and brimming with ancient towers and buildings. Strolling along the shady downtown streets, one can breathe the true atmosphere of Lucca and enjoy the reserved but courteous character of the Lucchese. In the narrow streets, lined with ancient shops and artisans’ studios, the daily life of the city is palpable, hard working and lively.

Having stayed in your lovely apartment in Barga Daniela, we knew we would not be disappointed with the one in Lucca. You were there to warmly greet us and we were very pleased to find the very large apartment once again in a great location within the walls. We enjoyed our stay in Lucca filling our day with sightseeing, shopping and eating, knowing we had a lovely comfortable apartment to come back to. Once again we would have no hesitation to recommend your apartment and have already done so to friends and family. Thank you Emilia and Gamble |
