The house has been recently restored and extended and has a fully fitted dining kitchen, sitting room with sofa bed leading to a large covered verandah and a large bathroom with shower and washing machine. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds or a double.
There is a 3.5m diameter, 90cm deep, lightweight pool on the lawn at front of the house, a paved terrace as well as a delightful shaded eating area.

The Tuscany region
Tuscany is the most popular region of Italy, famous for its wonderful climate, landscape, and art treasures. The famous "art" cities of Florence, Sienna and Lucca are huge attractions, whilst the culinery tradition is there to be savoured.
Lucca - Garfagnana area
The area is well known for its excellent value cooking, using the best of local ingredients. A typical set lunch with 4 choices of pasta course, and 4 choices of main course costs only 9 euro inclusive of bread, wine and coffee. It is possible to have a multi-course traditional Sunday lunch or dinner with ample wine, coffee and liquors for less than 25 euro.
Garfagnana is the best area in Tuscany for walking.
We have links with an outdoor activities company who offer guided walks and climbing, mountain biking, canoeing and world class gorge walking.
The owner of Le Lunghe is a locally well known mountaineer, who can give you detailed advice of the best walking around the Appenine and Apuan Mountains.
How to get there
Flights to Pisa Airport from several UK airports including Gatwick, Stanstead, Prestwick, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Bournmouth, Leeds/Bradford and Manchester. Operators include Jet2, Ryanair and BA. Other destinations Genoa, Milan-Bergamo, Bologna.
Trains to Viareggio, Florence.
An English speaking mini-bus taxi can be arranged for airport pick-ups at a cost of 90 euros e/w. It is also available for other excursions and local pick-ups.

Le Lunghe has stunning views and is ideal for people who seek peace and solitude, but is within a few minutes walk or drive of all amenities. There are two bars and restaurants within a short walk and you shouldn't have to go much more than 10 miles in any direction to appreciate what the area has to offer.
Castelnuovo, 1000 feet below the house, is good for all kinds of shopping, has a a local market, two tourist information offices and many bars and restaurant
