Ai Limoni is a stone-built carpenter's workshop which has been beautifully and lovingly restored by the owner's son who has incorporated his father's old woodworking table into the furniture. Located in Castelvecchio Pascoli, 5km from Barga and only 1km from the main Lucca Castelnuovo road and Castelvecchio Pascoli railway station, the house is ideally situated for exploring the local area as well as cities of Lucca, Florence and Pisa.
There is a large south-facing private garden to the front and side of the house which can be accessed directly from both bedrooms via patio doors. The garden area to the front is lawned and features two large lemon trees at the border.
Inside, the house is beautifully decorated and furnished to a high standard, including underfoor heating.
Private parking is available to the side of the house.

The Tuscany region
The Garfagnana region has all the charm, culture and history of southern Tuscany while also offering endless opportunities for walking amidst rugged and spectacular mountain scenery.
Nestling between the Apennies and the more rugged Apuan Alps, the area is characterised by beech and chestnut-covered hills set against a spectacular mountain backdrop.
Lucca is a 45-minute drive away and the coast about 1hour 15mins. The rail network also provides a cheap, quick and stress-free means of reaching the centres of Florence, Pisa and Lucca.
Lucca - Garfagnana area
Castelvecchio Pascoli is a small hamlet between the Serchio Valley and Barga. It is named after the poet Giovanni Pascoli who lived there in the latter years of his life. There is a small shop and also a cafe.
Castelvecchio Pascoli railway station, on the main line between Castelnuovo and Lucca, is only 1km away making Ai Limoni an ideal base for exploring Lucca, Florence and beyond.
Closer at hand, there are walks in the local woods and swimming in the natural pools of the River Serchio. Barga, a wonderful little town with many facilities and a beautiful medieval centre is only 4.5km away.
Public swimming pools and tennis courts are available in Barga and in Gallicano (5.5km).
How to get there
Nearest airports: Pisa and Florence. Easyjet and Ryanair both fly to Pisa, about 1hr 15 mins away, (75km).
By road from Lucca, follow signs for Barga / Castelnuovo di Garfagnana / Garfagnana. (SS12 / SS445). Approximately 8km before Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana turn right following signs for Barga. Castelvecchio is approx. 1km from the junction.

Further details indoors: Inside, the house is on two levels with a bright, airy open plan living area on the upper floor with fantastic views to the Apuan Alps through large arched windows. The kitchen features a large, modern fridge freezer and a dishwasher. In the sitting area, there is an open fire and a wooden spiral staircase leading to the lower floor.
On the ground floor, there are two beautifully-furnished bedrooms and a shower room. One bedroom has a double bed and the other, bunk beds and an additional pull-out bed below.
There are terracotta tiles and beamed ceilings throughout.

To the side of the house, there is an additional garden area which also affords private parking.
