[An easy 20 minute walk on the road or 25 minutes using a lovely woodland walk behind the house.] On the large westerly facing terrace, particularly conducive for al fresco entertaining, one can hear the melodic sounds of the Corsonna river and enjoy a panoramic view of the imposing Apuan Alps.

The Garfagnana region has all the charm, culture and history of southern Tuscany while also offering endless opportunities for walking amidst rugged and spectacular mountain scenery.
Lucca - Garfagnana / Barga area
Barga is a wonderful medieval town bursting with history, beautiful architecture, galleries, cafés and restaurants. There is a jazz club which offers live music all year round as well as a theatre and summer jazz and opera festivals. Throughout the summer in Barga and surrounding villages there are frequent small outdoor festivals with live music, dancing and local food.
The modern part of Barga has a public outdoor pool, a cinema, tennis courts, riding stables, bike hire and, of course, many shops, cafes and restaurants.
How to get there
Nearest airports: Pisa and Florence. Easyjet and Ryanair both fly to Pisa, about 1hr 30mins away, (65km).
By road from Lucca, follow signs for Barga / Castelnuovo di Garfagnana / Garfagnana. (SS12 / SS445).

Further details indoors: The entrance from the small private garden leads into a newly fitted kitchen / diner with oven, hob microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher and wood burning stove. The dining area has a table and seating for six. Downstairs there is also a beautifully decorated lounge and shower room (which also houses the washing maching).
A wooden staircase leads from the dining area to the upstairs floor with two spacious, independent double bedrooms each with original ceramic floors and a large tiled bathroom with French windows leading on to a small balcony. Bath, hand shower, WC, bidet and washbasin.
Further details outdoors: As well as a large, sunny terrace there is secluded, more shaded patio area adjacent to the kitchen with table and chairs and a BBQ.
