Home description
A homely, detached house, enjoying panoramic views, located in a quiet position within a scenic hillside village. The house is located in its own private plot, away from traffic and noise.
Opening the front door you enter the bright and spacious lounge. Furnished with two large sofas, coffee tables, sideboard, dining table and chairs, log fireplace, TV, mini hifi, and a selection of cds, books & local tourist info.
From the lounge you enter the kitchen/diner, where you find fitted cupboards and worktops, wood oven, gas cooker, cooker hood, large fridge/freezer, table and chairs, with a wide variety of kitchen utensils. French doors open out to the patio. Beside the kitchen is the downstairs bathroom, tiled, with a shower, bidet, wc, basin, and cabinet with illuminated mirror and shaver point.
Back in the lounge, you climb the spiral staircase to the upstairs. The corrridor first brings you to bedroom 2 where you find two single beds, with bedside cabinets, wardrobe, and mirror. From the corridor you then enter bedroom 1 with its king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets, lights, and mirror. Both bedroom windows offer amazing views. At the end of the corridor, you enter the tiled bathroom, with shower, bidet, wc, basin, and cabinet with illuminated mirror and shaver point.
Returning to the kitchen, you open the french doors and enter the patio outside. A large area, fully paved, and flat, providing the ideal 'outside room'. To the front of the patio is a small grassed garden that slopes down to the road. Behind the house is a small grassed flat garden, planted with olive and fruit trees.

The Tuscany region
The house is located in Northern Tuscany, in the province of Lucca.
Tuscany is a popular tourist attraction, offering beauty, culture, history, and cuisine. It is a large region offering a wide range of sights, which cannot all be seen in one or even two visits. Major cities include, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Pistoia, Prato, Livorno, plus the popular beach resorts of Viareggio and Forte Dei Marmi, to name a few.
The Garfagnana area of Tuscany, is one of Tuscany's best kept secrets. An undiscovered and more interesting part of Tuscany offering natural beauty and wonderful local cuisine.
The location of the house offers the ideal base for you to explore the Garfagnana region, and the other parts of Tuscany, with Lucca nearby, Pisa, Florence, the fashionable coastal resorts, and Siena, all easily accessible.
Lucca - Garfagnana / Coreglia Antelminelli area
Garfagnana, is also known as the 'Heart of Tuscany', is an area of natural beauty, offering breathtaking landscapes, history, and a way of life that is steeped in tradition.
The area is dotted with numerous villages and towns which offer a warm welcome, all offering something different. Its past isolation has ensured that its beauty, history, traditions and customs have been preserved.
Local attractions, include Coreglia Antelminelli, Bagni Di Lucca, Barga, Castelnuovo Di Garfagnana, The Wind Caves, Vagli Lake, Calomini, Fortezza Delle Verrucole, San Pellegrino, Devils Bridge, Orrido Di Botri, Orecchiella and Aregegna Natural Parks.
The Garfagnana is an ideal location for hiking with numerous walks and trails to follow.
Gromignana offers a local shop, bar, public telephone, and church. The nearest restaurants are in Coreglia and Ghivizzano, both a 10 minute drive away.
Within a 30 minute drive from the house you can choose from a wide selection of excellent family run restaurants all offering the best that the region can offer.
There are several large supermarkets nearby in Gallicano and Borgo Mozzano.
Outdoor markets are held locally on a near daily basis.
How to get there
Pisa Airport is a modern airport, an hours drive from the house. A free shuttle bus takes you from outside the arrivals area to the large car hire area (2 minute journey) where you book in and collect your car.
From the airport, you take the road to the motorway, then onwards to Lucca. At Lucca you take the main road to Garfagnana, then to Ghivizzano, then on to Gromignana via a very good hill road.

For your safety, there are 2 smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarm, fire extinguisher, fire blanket, and basic first aid kit.
Further details outdoors: Private garden and large patio area with the boundary fully fenced off. Access is via a pedestrian front gate, with vehicular access via a right of way next door through an electric gate. Parking is safe and private.
Excellent location for couples and families. Great scenic and private rural location. Ideal base from which to enjoy the Garfagnana region, and the other Tuscan attractions.
