The Central England / Cotswolds / Cheltenham / Gloucester region
There are famous cities such as Bath, well-known beautiful towns like Cheltenham and hundreds of delightful villages such as Burford and Castle Combe. Above all, the local honey-coloured limestone, used for everything from the stone floors in the houses to the tiles on the roof, has ensured that the area has a magical uniformity of architecture.
Lower Oddington area
The village boasts an attractive and popular pub. Walk to the next village along a pretty lane to find another attractive village inn.
This winding lane also leads from the main street, between woods and fields, past verges full of spring flowers, until it reaches the ancient village church of St. Nicholas with its unusual wall paintings.
How to get there
From Heathrow take the A40 towards Oxford, then take the A44, turn onto the London Road (sign posted Chipping Norton), turn left onto the A436, follow the signs to Stow.
From Cheltenham take the A46, then the A435 onto the London Road, follow the signs for Oxofrd, then Cirencester, then Stow.

Further details indoors: Foden Lodge has a large Loungeand Dining area with an Inglenook fireplace housing a multipurpose burner, supplemented by night storage heaters.
Further details outdoors: Foden Lodge is situated in a quiet picturesque village of Oddington. The village has two pubs which both serve good food. One the Fox inn is only a couple of minutes walk away. There is another pub in a nearby village which serves traditional pub food. The village has an a Church built nearly a thousand years ago, which has a mural on the wall depicting the last judgement. Walking up the village street is like being back in time, with very few cars to disturb the peace. Near the Church is an ancient woodland where bluebells which flower in the Spring can be seen in abundance.
Further details
Foden Lodge has a shower-room toilet on the ground floor, and a bathroom/toilet on the first floor next to the double bedroom, so it is suitable for people with limited mobility, and those only wishing to climb the stairs once a day. The twin room is up a further flight of stairs and has its own sitting area and television. This room is not available to 1 couple booking so a lower price is offered. We also feel this arrangement makes it unsuitable for young children under 12
