Lower Mill

Lower Mill Estate is within a short walk to Somerford Keynes, a local village with a Quality Pub and a number of other small villages are within 5 minutes drive, offering local amenities like: Post office, Grocery shop and more Pubs.

The estate is located within the Cotswold Waterpark which provides numerous opportunities to explore either on foot, by bike or watercraft, seasonal cable skiing is also on offer as are sailing, canoeing and windsurfing tuition/hire.

The are several golf courses locally.

An artificial beach on one of the lakes within the Keynes Country Park will keep the children entertained as will the local Butts Farm whilst Magic land in Cirencester is available for very young children if the weather is poor.

Horse riding and bike hire is also available locally.

Regular polo matches are played in & around Cirencester.

Cirencester is the nearest town and is only 10 minutes drive, where you will find large Tesco, Waitrose, M&S and a good variety of shops/boutiques, pubs and restaurants.

The town of Cirencester (formerly named Corinium was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times) is home to the Corinium Museum, the Cirencester Abbey (the longest known Saxon church in England) and host to regular market days.

"Stunning House and Perfect Location"

We had a great long weekend at Phoenix House, the booking process was easy - both Kasha and Stephanie were really helpful. Lower Mill Estate is the perfect setting for a relaxing break. The accommodation was excellent, everything you could want. We look forward to booking another stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Phoenix House.

"Excellent location and a fabulous house"

Our short break away was fantastic - the house and it's facilities were as described, and the location absolutely perfect. If we look for a UK destination for a holiday in future, we will certainly consider returning here. Thanks to Kasha and the team for making our break one to remember !

"Exceeded our expectations"

Kasha, I Really appreciate the expert way you, John and your team conduct your business, extremely professional with a personal touch. We had the most amazing weekend, the house was incredible, comfortable and by far exceeded our expectations and a fantastic time was had by all. You knew we had a good break when you didn't hear from us during our stay, that's how it should be, that is not luck that comes down to your experience and forward planning, making sure your guests have no reason to complain or ask questions that are as clear as the nose on your face. We will definitely be back. We would definitely consider coming again if you would have us.

"Excellent accommodation and location"

This accommodation was perfect for our group consisting of 2 families, with children ranging from 7 to 12. The house was very well maintained, clean and well equipped for our stay. With the fantastic weather we had, we did not stray too far from the house - just sitting on the deck overlooking the lake was lovely! The children could play just across the road on the grass and on the tennis court, and loved having the freedom to scooter around the lake. There was also a good children's playground and trampoline just across the road. It was only a 2 minute walk to the warm indoor and outdoor swimming pools too, which we visited on an almost daily basis. The spa was very friendly - my friend and I enjoyed a hot stone massage, and my 10 year old daughter loved having her nails done for the first time! The cafe on site was poor on service on the occasion we visited but we ate at the nearby Bakers Arms which was good. Nearby Flagham Fen was a must for an evening walk - this is where beavers have been reintroduced, and it was amazing catching a glimpse of one on the walks we had.

"Beautiful location - Fantastic Accommodation"

Stayed in this lovely house with a group of friends for my husbands 40th. The house is in a stunning location and everything we needed was supplied in the house from wifi and a docking station to tennis rackets , DVDs and games. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in an extra special place.

"Fabulous location and space!"

A beautiful house which was furnished and equipped to a high standard. The space was amazing; accommodating an age range from 65+ to 3 months.The owners had tastefully decorated for Christmas including 2 Christmas trees! A thoughtful touch was a basket of Christmas themed D.V.D.s and table/kitchen linen.The space worked well for such a wide age range. The location is superb and only a short walk from the lovely spa and swimming pools.I would highly recommend this property for family and friends.

"Fabulous Location and Amenities"

We went as 2 families of 4 staying in this property which is conveniently located for the spa facilities and the Tennis court. The property is well appointed and had (nearly) everything that we could have wanted for a long weekend stay there. The sitting area is spacious and comfortable and the dining table and kitchen is larger than most properties we have stayed in. There is a large decking area with barbecue but it was too cold for us to utilise that this time. The view of the lake is beautiful from the decking and the bedrooms. Only 1 double room has an ensuite shower room, but there is a bathroom just next door to one other double room, so that did not really create any major issues for us. The other 2 rooms - 1 double, 1 twin - occupied by the 4 children, used the family bathroom on the upper floor. It is peaceful and quiet there, and safe for the children to walk around the location by themselves. A visit to the shop for a hot chocolate was a real treat for them! However I would suggest purchasing your shopping off site as the shop is quite expensive! The Spa is excellent with a lovely pool (indoor and outdoor), but the treatments were already booked up by the time we arrived, so book in advance if you are planning a massage! Did we enjoy our stay? Well let's just say we rebooked for 2014 before we left!
