This cosy, renovated, detached, brick built and double glazed small garden cottage, offers a peaceful (and romantic) haven for couples set within the grounds of the owners' home surrounded by unspoilt countryside and peaceful rolling hills. Entered from the shared driveway where there is visitor parking for one car, a footpath leads to the front door of the cottage through an arch of clematis. The self-contained accommodation, in a light bright décor, consists of a general open-plan living room with a wood burner and a skylight window allowing visitors to watch the stars at night. There is a neatly fitted galley kitchen with a small two ring cooker, stainless steel sink and worktop and a small table with dining chairs, in the living area there is a large three seater settee and a casual lounge chair along with TV, DVD etc. The bedroom having a standard double bed with king size quilt and 6 pillows provided (bed linen and towels available at extra cost).
A door opens to a part tiled, separate shower room W.C. with hand basin and heated towel.
A back door from the cottage leads to the secluded patio with a sheltered lawn exclusively for the visitors use with table and chairs and BBQ and catches the morning sun. The garden and paddock are often visited by deer, badgers, pheasant and other local wildlife…
There are traditional village pubs serving a good selection of food in the village, and in Downton just 2 miles, and a good selection of amenities in the market town of Fordingbridge 6 miles away. Redlynch itself has a local shop/post office, pubs/ restaurants and there is nothing nicer than walking through the woods in the morning to the village shop for the daily newspaper!
Footpaths lead to some wonderful walks offering panoramic views of The Downs and there are also lovely forest walks nearby. Maps are available in the cottage for your use.
There is a golf course close by, and the seaside resorts of Milford and Barton on Sea are within a 45 minute car journey. Numerous attractions within easy reach including Breamore House, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Palace House, Stonehenge, Exbury Gardens to name but a few.
Beaches in the southern part of the forest or Bournemouth are an easy car drive away or for a alternative day out why not get on a ferry in Lymington and visit the Isle of Wight the crossing is only 35 minutes to Yarmouth and worth the trip just to see the forest from another perspective...

The cottage is lovely, in a very peaceful garden. The cottage itself could have been made lovely also. It was very dirty, the inside of cupboards and drawers were very fusty, the crockery had to be wa… More
We are very dismayed to receive this review as we have been letting our cottage for some 15 years without a single detrimental comment and have numerous repeat visitors from home and abroad who love the cottage and the location and come back year after year. We also have a visitors book in the cottage which is full of positive comments and feedback from people who thought the cottage more than met their expectation.

"Cozy cottage in great location"
Highly recommended cottage in a great location for exploring the area. Walking and cycling are on your doorstep with great routes right out of the driveway. My wife and I stayed for a post christmas break and were very impressed at the warm welcome and standard of the cottage for the price. We got some great walks in despite the colder weather and found that the location was very good for exploring the entire new forest Hamp/Wilts area. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Everywhere we went we found good food at reasonable prices with our personal recommendation being the Woodfalls Inn ( 10 min walk ).Visited twice in 6 days!
We will definately be visiting again.
