Reproduction Railway Carriages
About the home
The Old Station Yard is a real haven of peace & tranquillity yet, amazingly, it is just ten minutes drive from the hubbub of Cleethorpes or the more traditional, quiescent appeal of Louth, Lincolnshire's capital market town.
Audrey, Cygnus and Ibis, our 3 reproduction Railway Carriages, are romantically named after carriages on the Orient Express and are designed in brake-van style. Each comfortably sleeps four with a double room and a cute bunk room, and provides an alternative, innovative and quite simply outstanding choice of holiday accommodation. Set in a bespoke holiday arena for the more discerning holidaymaker, a single carriage offers a relaxing, non-demanding, unique vacation or the whole arena can be booked making it ideal for large family gatherings or groups, especially with our unique BBQ pavillion offering opportunities for the whole group to experience outdoor dining together.
Ideally situated for cycling, walking, fishing and golf, a new horizon greets you around every corner. Lush green fields bordered with golden primroses, or cheerful poppies. The wildlife scurrying at the road edges and across fields or the birds swooping and hopping the pretty hedgerows. The vista of the big skies and the wispy clouds set against the backcloth of the deepest blue sky. Sights and smells to provoke that feeling of freedom far from the madding crowd....
Cycle hire on site allows you the freedom to explore this gentle edge of Lincolnshire at a more leisurely pace.

The bedrooms are fully fitted with bespoke furniture in Olde English white with oak laminate trimming & carcassing. One bedroom is a comfy double & the other a natty bunkroom.
The double bedroom also has a 14” colour TV along with a dressing table with mirror, twin wardrobes, bedside cabinets & a tall small chest with a colour coordinated double bed complete with a quality sprung edge mattress and classy bed linen. Oh yes, and a hairdryer for the ladies!
The bunkroom is exactly that with cute twin bunks, a wardrobe & hanging space fully fitted in the same classic style as the double bedroom. Children adore the bunk room!
The bathroom consists of a corner shower enclosure with a power shower, pretty vanity basin, heated towel rail & of course, a loo… all with the requisite fitments stylised to match.
The barrelled shape ceiling is traditionally plastered and the units are decorated throughout with a warm and serene brown and beige colour scheme. Some quite unusual & authentically styled light fitments along with antique brass curtain poles and ridiculously expensive drapes with matching cushions add warmth and opulence to the general ambience.
The addition of a posh flat screen LCD TV (with SKY) on a swivel & twist wall hung bracket, a DVD player and some further finishing touches including deep skirting boards & dado rails complete the setting.
This is not just a railway carriage! This is a beautiful, high quality holiday home fully deserving closer inspection for a welcoming break away from it all........

The Heart of England / Peak District / Lincolnshire region

Lincolnshire is host to an abundance of activities! Endless walking and cycling routes, including the Viking Way and 125 miles of the Sustrans Hull to Harwich Cycle Route which passes through Lincolnshire joining two ports, hence its popularity with visiting cyclists from overseas.
Rich in aviation history, home to old and new – 617 squadron Dambusters and the Red Arrows. Colour and soft scent cover the county as 150 Gardens and Nurseries open for the season. Scattered throughout the county are many hidden treasures including one of the original four copies of the Magna Carta, housed in Lincoln Castle, the birthplace of the poet Alfred Tennyson and the former home of Sir Isaac Newton. Another must, is sampling a ‘Taste of Lincolnshire’, fresh local produce for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Lincolnshire's weekly markets are thriving and lively. Most shops are still family businesses with skills and recipes handed down through the generations – do try Lincolnshire sausages, plum bread and stuffed chine.
The Louth area
Ideally situated for cycling, walking, fishing and golf – the range of nature and wildlife as soon as you step out of the door never fails to delight! A birdwatcher's paradise, we keep the feeders topped up at all times.
You will witness amazing views, stretching out to Lincolnshire’s rolling Wolds and to Pleasure Island less than 6 miles away in Cleethorpes.
We hire a broad range of cycles and accessories right here on site so that you and your family can all enjoy the serenity of the quiet country lanes at a more leisurely pace.
Being on the edge of the Wolds, we are in an ideal location for all cycling abilities. Stay to the east if you want a gentle day's ride or head just 1 mile west for the hills and vales of the rolling Wolds for a more strenuous experience!
Louth is a thriving town that has maintained its individuality, remaining full of independent shops, markets and tearooms. Well worth a visit! Just on the outskirts of Louth is Hubbards Hills, a wonderful little haven for a stroll along the stream through woods and pastures. Loved by adults and children alike.
There are numerous animal farms in the area for children to meet animals and have fun!
For those looking for thrills and spills, Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes is a good bet. Cadwell Park is always a popular choice for the racing enthusiasts too!
With so much going on in the area one could never be short of things to do! A real haven of peace & tranquillity amazingly just ten minutes drive from the hubbub of Cleethorpes & Grimsby & the more traditional, quiescent appeal of Louth.
