Home description
Provencal style villa. The property is surrounded by a fence with electrical gates to guaranty privacy and safety. The entrance on the ground floor opens onto a large living room with an open fire. At the back a small office corner room includes a desk. There's an open dining room which in turn opens onto a large fully equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher) and a separate laundry room. All rooms on this side of the house feature large bay windows opening onto a terrace where guests can dine outside, beyond which is the pool and garden. This floor contains also a master double bedroom, a bathroom with separate bath and shower and a toilet. The first floor includes 3 bedrooms (one triple and two double), a shower room and a separate toilet. Each bedroom is equipped with good quality beds and has an access to a terrace with good views of the surrounding countryside.

Mérindol is ideally located in the border of Vaucluse and Bouches-du-Rhône making it easy to reach many beautiful sites : - Châteauneuf du Pape, Gidongas, Vacqueyras, for wine lovers - Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a major haunt for antique hunters at week ends. - Fontaine de Vaucluse. The river Sorgue flows in the dramatic setting of this town. - Vaison la Romaine and Orange both built on a roman and medieval sites - Baux de Provence, Saint Rémy de Provence - Festival of Avignon in July includes theatre, mime and cabaret, dance and film - Gordes and its Castle and exclusive restaurants - Roussillon with its deep ochres used in the construction of its building - Camargue and its wildlife (wild horses, pink famingos, bull), Arles and its feria and bodega bars - Aix en Provence

Lourmarin / Merindol area
Weekly markets in all surrounding villages with market stall full of regional produce, art and crafts. Lourmarin (home of Albert Camus) features a castle, plenty of boutiques that reflects the character of the region
Many winery producing some of the best rosé available. Château La Verrerie is only a few min. drive from Merindol. One can taste and buy the excellent wines direct from the winemaker Several restaurants on site or within a 20km radius where you can sample local food.

Arriving by Air Weekly or daily flights to Marseille from many UK cities including London Standstead (Ryanair), Gatwick (BA and Easyjet) , Birmingham (BMYBaby), Bornemouth (Ryanair), Bristol (Easyjet) Manchester (Ryanair) Car hire companies include Avis, Budget, Citer, Ada, Europcar and Hertz
The drive is approximately 50 minutes door to door
Arriving by Train Tickets from London to Avignon and Marseille on the channel are available. There is a direct Eurostar service from Kings Cross to Avignon. It should take approx. 6h to reach the Pope city from London.
Getting around by road The Main route to Provence is via an excellent (if expensive) motorway network. Travellers from the UK will have difficulty avoiding Paris. Motorways skirt the city centre leading from the Northern A1 to the Southern A6. Exit at Senas and head into the Luberon.

This two storey house benefits from a massive terrace going straight onto a large private swimming pool - long enough to swim laps- and a small pool for children. There's also a pool house with a toilet.The south-facing garden is terraced with large stones and planted with beautiful olive trees.
