The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region

Lourmarin is sited on the south of the Luberon mountains and is thus more sheltered that those villages on the north. It is a Garden of Eden environment with vinyards, olive groves, lavender fields, cherry orchards, wild flowers and herbs, and local industries include olive oil mills (visit Cucuron) lavender distilleries, and the famous Glace fruits of Apt. Within easy driving distance are places of interest: roman remains at Pont du Gard, Orange and Nimes. Art galleries and museums in Avignon, Aix en Provence and Marseille. Wildlife in the Carmargue, walking in the Luberon, tennis and swimming in the village, the Cote d'azure for a day trip, and some very smart shopping in Aix, only 35 mins. drive. Or chill out in the village caf'es and watch the world go by
The Lourmarin area
Music Festivals throughout the region in the summer. Cezanne's studio in Aix. Papal Palace in Avignon. Many stunning villages such as Gordes, Mererbes, Les Baux, Bonnieux, Rousillion, worth a scenic drive. There are markets every day of the week, the best probably Aix on Tues. Thurs & Sats. Visit the C15 chateau in Lourmarin itself, or go to one of the many concerts in the Chateau. There are two starred restaurants in the area - The Feniere in Lourmarin, and Edward Loubet's restaurant in Bonnieux. For antique lovers Isle de la Sourge is a must where collectors come from far and wide.

Dear Mrs Wilson,
We promised you a few words to describe how we felt about our recent holiday in your apartment.
A week after returning from our holiday, we are still reflecting on the beautiful village of Lourmarin, and those in the surrounding Luberon area. It really is one of the most beautiful parts of France. We found the apartment to be very comfortable, fully equipped, cool throughout the day and quiet ,yet within a short walk of all the cafes and restaurants in Lourmarin. We would highly recommend it to couples who enjoy exploring the lovely Provence countryside and French-village way of life.
Thank you, once again, for everything and it was very nice to meet you both during our memorable holiday.
Very Best Wishes,
Peggy & Mike Jones July 2008

"Anita, Now we are back and I've got a minute, I thought that I would just send a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay in the apartment, which is beautifully presented. It was a perfect base for exploring the area, and the village itself is beautiful. We have many happy memories of our week in the sun, and won't hesitate to recommend the property to others. Thank you again, Neil." September 2009

Great location for walking around the amazing village and easy access for touring aroundthe area. We saw all your recommended highlights and more. The french markets and especially the Friday market in Lourmarin are wonderful. I was delighted with the area. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend. Dear Anita I thought I'd drop you a note to tell you how much we enjoyed our week in your flat. It was really comfortable and a great base for exploring Provence. Madame Dechavanne gave us a warm, friendly and chatty welcome and departure. We had the best, stupendous meals at Lour Pdbre and de L'Horloge and we had the bonus of hot and sunny weather all weekk - just the job for pottering round all the markets and eating out with a glass of wine ! Now back to Brim with cardy on, looking out on grey skies and drizzle...eh well.
Thank you for providing everything in your flat for such a good stay. Best wishes Kathering. 29 May 2011
