About the home
The Quintassential Algarve Self Catering Apartment cottages are 4 self catering baby/family/over 50's friendly apartment cottages, 1200 feet above sea level in the Central Algarve all with sea views & equipped, furnished & decorated to very high standards & 15 minutes from the airport.
The accommodations are open all year round so that guests can enjoy the 3000 hours of sunshine the Algarve has to offer. We understand that with low cost airlines it may be better to travel on days other than Sunday or Thursday, so we are flexible with our arrival and departure days.
The apartment cottages are let individually with no group bookings accepted ensuring all our guests have a relaxing break in peace and tranquility. There is a large pool, heated during the winter months and a freestanding hot tub spa jacuzzi. There are 3 one bedroom accommodations Lemon, Carob & Casa do Forno Cottages available, the Lemon & Carob Cottages each sleep 2 adults & 1 small child in each & have gas central heating & the Casa do Forno Cottage sleeps 2 adults & has 24/7 heating during the winter months.
The Quintassential occupies an acre of hilltop, totally fenced and accessed via electric gates in breathtaking Algarvian countryside in the centre of the sunny Algarve in total peace & tranquillity 15 minutes from Faro International Airport & the coast and overlooking the market town of Loulé. There are spectacular panoramic sea views from Faro to Portimao. Parts of the Quintassential date back to mid 19th Century and are divided up into four cottages, one large two bedroom apartment cottage, Orange Cottage, two newer one bedroom apartment cottages, Lemon & Carob Cottage and a rustic one bedroom duplex cottage, Casa do Forno Cottage. All have their own separate entrances, own kitchens, private south-facing sun terraces and BBQ areas. All accommodations have been furnished to a very high standard. The owners of the Quintassential occupy the fifth accommodation and are to hand should you require any help, but their promise to their guests is that they will never infringe on your privacy.
The Quintassential also has the added benefit of free Wi-Fi Internet access for guest use with hotspots within the Quintassenital grounds.

The Lemon & Carob Cottages are the newer of the apartment cottages available, light and airy 1 bedroom cottages with a large bedroom that has a double bed in the Carob Cottage & twin beds in the Lemon Cottage, digital security safe, 21 inch TV with DVD player, video (small selection of videos available) & patio doors leading on to the sun terrace. The bedrooms are large enough to also accommodate a single sofa chair bed or cot too. The bathrooms have a shower, washbasin with vanity units under, WC, bidet and shaver point.
The spacious lounge/diner are decorated tastefully and have large comfy leather sofa, 32 inch LCD TV, Satellite TV (UK free to view channels), DVD player (small selection of DVD’s), radio/CD player (guests to bring own CDs), puzzles, chess set, playing cards, Domino set and patio doors leading onto a private terrace with tables and chairs, brick BBQ and reclining chairs. The Lemon Cottage has the added benefit of it’s own lemon tree on the terrace to give you added natural shade. The Carob Cottage is the sunniest of all the accomodations available.
The modern kitchenette comprise of fridge with freezer compartment, combi microwave oven, electric kettle, coffee filter machine, hand held electric blender, toaster and electric hob.
The Lemon & Carob Cottage sleep a maximum of 2 adults and 1 small child and this cottage has the added benefit of gas central heating for the cooler winter months. This is already included in the price. Full details of heating times will be provided at the time of enquiry.
The Casa do Forno Cottage is a rustic 1 bedroom cottage that sleeps 2 adults & is a child-free zone. Very private with original features dating back to the 19th century, yet with modern day comforts. This accommodation has its own private garden and from the terrace you will experience some of the best sunsets the Algarve has to offer.
The Extras We Provide - On arrival the owners will meet you and awaiting your arrival will be a welcome hamper in your accommodation compliments of the house for guests staying a week or longer. For all the adult guests, bathrobes are provided for use during their stay, pool towels are provided to use only at the Quintassential and the apartment cottages have hairdryers, irons and ironing boards. Guests will need to bring their own beach towels.
The Quintassential Cottages are non-smoking cottages and car hire is essential.

The Lemon Cottage is one of two idential accommodations available at the Quintassential, the other being the Carob Cottage and immediately adjacent. The Casa do Forno Cottage is a rustic cottage and not suitable for children or for people with walking difficulties due to the rustic stairs.
We do everything possible to ensure that families with children have a holiday that is both fun and relaxing. With children of our own we know how important it is to keep kids happy and entertained on holiday, within a safe and secure environment. The grounds are totally fenced and accessed via electric gates, so a very safe place. There is a lot of space for children to play and to discover nature, play with our children loving dogs, we have three dogs, one old cat and two minature pigs in total. During the spring of 2012 there will also be some hens.
The family friendly accommodations are all separated from the pool area, the pool area is enclosed and gated to give parents of toddlers that extra piece of mind.
We have a children’s play area available designed for little ones situated on a large lawned area alongside an orange grove. There is a slide, swings, seesaw, playhouse etc, this area adds an exciting dimension for all the visiting children and keeps them occupied for hours. There is also a seating area for adults to relax, unwind and top up their tans.
For babies we have baby paddling pools to use on our pool terrace or your accommodations private terrace
We do not charge for children under the age of 2 and can provide a range of equipment for babies and toddlers free of charge, meaning you can travel lighter! The following equipment can be made available to all our guests on request:

We are also pleased to be able to provide BABY WELCOME PACKS. The Quintassential would like to give you the opportunity to make your holiday with small children run as smoothly as possible.
The exclusive Baby Welcome Pack service is designed to reduce the stress of traveling with young children, reduce the amount of extra luggage needed and eliminate the difficulty of searching for familiar baby products in another country. The Welcome Pack will be awaiting your arrival in your accommodation.

We can also arrange a baby sitting service with qualified registered child minders or should you wish our child minder to entertain your children for the day whilst you go out sightseeing, this is also available.

Outside The Quintassential is blessed with panoramic sea views and spectacular countryside views, just what you need for a tranquil and relaxing holiday. The mature gardens at Quintassential are marvellous with many bushes, plants and fruit trees, along with quiet areas to relax and absorb the views. When the fruit trees are in season, the owners come round with freshly picked fruit – they are delicious.
The Quintassential has a large heated pool area, the pool measures 10 x 5 m and sun loungers, parasols etc are provided for the use of the guests. The Quintassential now also boasts on the pool terrace its own outdoor hot tub spa Jacuzzi for guest use, a wonderful way to get rid of those aches and pains. The pool is heated during the cooler months from 1st October until 30th April and there is no additional charge for heating the pool.
We also have a children’s play area with swings, slide, see-saw, children’s play house all set alongside an orange grove. For those of you who are a little more energetic, there is also an outdoor games area with a professional size table tennis table, table football and an exercise bike available for guest use. There is also a pool table and 12ft trampoline with safety enclose.

The Lemon & Carob Cottage accommodates a maximum of two adults and one small child. The Casa do Forno Cottage accommodates 2 adults maximum, no children allowed in this accommodation. Prices quoted are based on a two person occupation. We do not charge for children under the age of 2. Should a third person wish to occupy the accommodation, there is an additional charge of £75.00 GBP per week.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Quintassential is located 2kms north of the market town of Loule in the Central Algarve. The central location is ideal for those wishing to explore the Algarve with the coast just 10 minutes drive away and so too the many worlkd famous golf courses. Spain can be reached with a 35 minute drive and in the opposite directoin the western Algarve can be reached within a 45 minute drive.
The town of Loule has everyone one would want from a holiday, the famous gypsy Saturday market, the famous daily fish, vegetable and meat market, an abudance of excellent eateries, cafes, supermarkets, a variety of shops, Loule being the best for shoes in the Algarve and also many places of interest, such as the church and churches.
The Loule / Cruz da Assumada area
The Quintassential has the added benefit of being only a 2 minute walk from the fantastic L'Auberge restaurant and bar and within a 15 minue walk there are another 3 fine restaurants to discover excellent Portuguese Cusine.
For those not wishing to leave the Quintassential, we are also pleased to announce our agreement with a local dinner company, delivery of three course meals to your accommodation.

Easyjet, Monarch Airlines, First Choice, Flybe all fly from the UK to the Algarve and information regarding airline carriers flying to the Algarve can be provided at the time of enquiry. Lisbon Airport is also a 2 hour drive away for alternative access to the Algarve.

Since Quintassential opened I and my husband, like so many other guests, have returned each year drawn back by the comfort and charm of these delightful cottages and their glorious position. The care and attention to detail is second to none and coupled to the welcome and helpfulness of the owners ,always there but never overly intrusive ,makes this a very special place to stay. |
