The living room is equipped with wide-screen TV with satellite reception. The dining room also opens to other terraces, with outdoor dining area. The library, facing south, serves as a reading area and games room with table-football. Two spacious bedrooms are located on the ground floor, of which one is opening to the veranda in the pool area. The master-bedroom and en-suite bathroom with an oversized bath and separate shower are on the first floor of the property.

The dependance houses another indoor kitchen normally serving as the laundrette for the premises – and also has a terrace with outdoor kitchen (w.barbeque).

Staff

The premises are taken care of by a service minded couple in their mid-thirties. He takes care of the gardens permanently but also maintains the terraces and pool area in the morning before 8:00 AM. The lady performs housekeeping tasks like making the beds, cleaning the house and taking care of the laundry upon request.

Optionally a professional lady-cook (not living on the premises) is available at an hourly rate for individual lunches or dinners, or for the full duration of your stay when she will also serve breakfast as well as lunch or dinner each day (either of the two to be indicated the day before).

The Algarve region

The charming town of Loulé is just a few minutes drive away, and offers a variety of bars, cafes, restaurants and shopping. Originally a Roman settlement, the remains of a ruined castle can still be seen in the old quarter, and an indoor market is held 6 days a week, where delicious fish, fruit and vegetables can be purchased. The village of Almancil is only minutes away, as are the beaches and golf courses of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago within a 10-12 minutes drive. Neighbouring Vilamoura is at the heart of the golfing country, with some of the world’s best golf courses, along with beaches offering all kinds of water sports.

The stunning views of the Algarve can be enjoyed from the large, beautifully landscaped garden with 6 terraces. It has a heated swimming pool (with built-in jetstream, jacuzzi and waterfall), multiple outdoor dining areas with both wood and gas barbecues, while the ground floor terraces outside the living and dining rooms are also furnished for dining or relaxing outdoors. The gardens are superbly maintained and there are multiple dwellings on the premises to find moments of tranquillity. Loule

Loulé is a pretty village, Alte, at the foot of the hills - it is a very typical Algarvean village, with the church in the centre and narrow, cobbled streets with whitewashed houses spilling down the hillside. There are springs (fontes) at one end of the village and a very 'picture postcard' scene where the ducks and geese swim in a pool formed by the spring, before the water tumbles down a small waterfall further along.

Faro, the place so many people 'forget' to visit, is a lovely city. The old part of Faro, within the city walls, has the Cathedral and Bishop's Palace in it's central square (Largo de Sé). Just behind the marina (a very modest affair compared to Vilamoura's!) lies the network of cobbled streets and squares, that make up the shopping centre.

Faro is also on the doorstep of the Ria Formosa - a network of lagoons and marshland protected on the seaward side by sandspit islands ('ilhas'). It's a really enjoyable 30 minute boat trip on a ferry from Faro to one of the ilha beaches, like Culatra or Deserta, through the Ria Formosa and gives a glimpse of the wild life on the way.

Nowhere in the Algarve is very far away so you can explore as much or as little as you want; Vilamoura holidays certainly offer everything you could want from a perfect holiday, without venturing any further afield!

If you just want to travel around the resort, there is a 'tourist train' running about every 30 minutes that costs about 3 euros - sit back and enjoy the view!

Even if you are not staying in Vilamoura it really is well worth a visit, just to see how much the Algarve has to offer.

About the Algarve: Is a famous holiday destination popular with those seeking bucket loads of sunshine and award winning golden sandy beaches, families, sports enthusiasts, nature lovers, even celebrities! If you have already been to the Algarve, then you know how much this small southern region of Portugal has to offer, but for those of you who haven't enjoyed an Algarve holiday yet, this is the Algarve..Uncovered!
