About the home

Villa L is a three bedroom villa in the picturesque little settlement of Espargal. The nearest village is Benafim (3 mins drive) and a little further on you will find Alte with it's charming cobbled streets and whitewashed houses. Less than 30 minutes to the beach, golf courses, and resorts.

The property has only recently been built and completed to the highest standard. It is set in a peaceful country location in the Algarvian mountains. The huge garden has a small olive grove and is well planted with many varieties of local Algarvian shrubs and flowers. The garden also boasts many shaded and sunny areas for you to relax in. There are ample outside tables, chairs and sun loungers.There are lots of books and magazines for your use.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Loule / Espargal area

The nearest village is Benafim (3 mins drive) which has a mini market, some smaller shops a few restaurants and a pharmacy. A little further on you will find the beautiful picturesque village of Alte with it's charming cobbled streets and whitewashed houses.

Salir, Messines, Boliqueme and Silves are other towns within the locality, that are certainly worth a visit. All with plenty of restaurants and local bars. The town of Loule is just a 15 min drive away. Make sure you visit the gypsy market here on Saturday mornings

“The best family holiday we've had in years.” Despite travel delays, we felt we were on holiday from the moment we arrived. Fintan and his wife Pauline stayed there to greet us and show us around even though it was around midnight. The fridge was stocked with milk, beer and wine and their was ham, cheese, rolls, tea and coffee for breakfast. The place was spotless and everything we seemed to require was their including cleaning fluids and dishwasher tablets. The outside area is brilliant, superb pool, separate pool house with shower and toilet, plenty of sunbeds, chairs and tables and also a superb built in barbeque area with outside kitchenette including fridge. The location suited us fine. It was quiet (apart from the occasional dog barking) and well away from the crowds. Nearest restaurant/small supermarket is 5-10 mins drive, Loule with larger supermarkets and hypermarkets is 20 mins drive, beaches/coast, approx 30 mins so you need a car and you need to be happy to drive everywhere. Fintan and Pauline went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure, unobtrusively keeping the place clean, tending to the pool, advising on places to visit and eat and even accomanying me to the doctors when I got an ear infection. And if you can't get in at Villa Le, their other villa is also of a similar standard.

"We had a wonderful time in Villa Le in Espargal. The house is great for families especially for young children and people with disabilities with everything being on one level, no steps and the pool wasn't too deep.
Pauline and yourself made us feel at home immediately with meeting us at the house and also a lovely much appreciated jesture of food and wine.
We couldn't fault a thing. The house was immaculate, the pool glistening and the views stunning. We even witnessed many a shooting star in the night sky! (Don't see much in London).
There is plenty to do and see locally, but if you fancy venturing further afield everything is so accessible by car and easy to get around and not much traffic on the roads.
