This penthouse apartment has 2 bedrooms and is located in an exceptionally beautiful and unspoiled part of Mayo overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. You can relax and enjoy a cup of tea and take in the breathtaking Atlantic views on the balcony.

This area is a surfer's paradise, yet retaining its natural character. The Ocean Lodge Hotel is next door to the complex.

The apartment comprises a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area with an outside balcony overlooking Clare Island, two double bedrooms and bathroom.

Killadoon is just under 10 kilometres from Louisburgh, an attractive small town with shops, restaurants, bars and a hotel. Westport town is a twenty minute drive from the property.

It is a 2 minute walk to the beach and there are many beaches within a short drive away.

The North West Ireland region

Louisburgh is built on the Bunowen River, part of which is a salmon fishery. Nearby Roonagh Pier, approx 6 km from the town, is the departure point for ferries to Clare Island and Inishturk. There are a number of beaches in the area renowned for their cleanliness and each year, on the May Bank Holiday Weekend, the town hosts a traditional music festival - Féile Chois Chuan - which attracts a large number of enthusiasts from many parts of Ireland and abroad.

The main geographical features around Louisburgh are Croagh Patrick to the east, the Sheaffrey and Mweelrea Mountains to the south, the Atlantic to the west and Clew Bay to the north. Enjoy the very scenic drives to Killary harbour and Kylemore Abbey.

There is something for everyone in this area.

Louisburgh

Mayo with its extensive coastline and golden sands is home to an abundance of world-class beaches whose beauty is incomparable even at international levels. The Killadoon and Louisburgh area are renowned for their wide variety and choice of beautiful blue flag beaches. Cross Beach and Carrownisky Strand, the world famous surfing beaches, the White and Silver Strands to mention a few more, while there are numerous un-named and somewhat unknown beaches dotting the remaining coastline, just waiting to be discovered.

Clare Island

Catch a ferry to the nearby Clare Island and enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Mayo coastline from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The largest of the Clew Bay islands it is spectacular with its natural beauty and unique history and culture. Innishturk

FISHING

With full rivers, the thriving Atlantic Ocean and enjoying some of the cleanest waters in Europe the West Coast of Mayo is a fisherman's heaven. Famous for its sea or shore fishing the Clew Bay and Killary Harbour provide an abundance of fish to catch for both the new and the experienced fisherman.

CYCLING

Another quick way to examine the spectacular scenery while getting some great exercise would be to cycle. With marked cycle loops and endless unmarked routes it's time to get-on-your-bike and explore this unique landscapes hidden marvels, some of which can only be found off the beaten track. With bike hire available close by and the hugely developed Westport Cycle Hub a stone's throw away there can be no excuses.

"relaxing break and wonderful scenery."

This is a gem hidden away but still quite near to the town of Westport appox 25mins drive. Probaby the best value for money you will find. The views are panoramic, really beautiful, and from the balc… More

We enjoyed a lovely holiday in Louisburgh, The apartment is well situated overlooking the Atlantic with everything you could need close by. I would highly recommend this apartment as a great base for exploring Co Mayo.

It was a pleasure to have you stay, we look forward to having you stay again. it was great you got to see so much that the west of Ireland has to offer, from Croagh Patrick to the beautiful beaches. Thanking you for staying.
