Louisburgh's scenery is as dramatic and unspoiled as any of the western shores of Europe. In a survey to find the ten best beaches in Europe, the British travel magazine "What Holiday" had this to say: "For solitude, the Atlantic beaches along the West Coast of Ireland are unbeatable: mile upon mile of deserted sands, blustery, melancholy and magnificent This bleak and fractured coast is at its best at Tallabaun Strand, Louisburgh. It's virtually uninterrupted seven-mile stretch of hard sands interspaced with rocky pools and little coves. There are dunes beyond the sand and marshland beyond the dunes and rarely another soul in sight"
The North West Ireland region
For scenic drives travel south to Connemara via Doolough and Leenane, north to Achill via Westport and Newport, or to Ballycastle and the Ceide Fields via Castlebar and Pontoon, or east to Tourmakeady and Lough Nafooey via Westport/Tourmakeady and Leenane, or if you fancy leaving the car out the road at Roonagh pier, go west to Clare Island or lnishturk.
This wonderful holiday home is located in a small development a quarter of a mile from Louisburg in a peaceful setting boasting magnificent views of Croagh Patrick. It is perfectly equipped and tastefully decorated with bicycles provided free for your enjoyment. This is the perfect location for walkers with Croagh Patrick 6 miles away, fishing and surfing on the beach less than a mile away. There is something on offer for all the family. The property makes a great touring base for the west of Ireland with the bustling Westport just 14 miles away.
~ There is 1 Ladies, 1 Gents and 2 Children's bicycle available for holidaymakers use free of charge.
