About this location
The Aquitaine region
Loubes Bernac is in the northern part of the Lot et Garonne administrative department, just south of the Dordogne and Gironde departments. All are within the Aquitaine region, which encompasses Bordeaux on the Atlantic coast down to the Basque country in the Pyrenees, and the Spanish border. The region is renowned for its gastronomy. As well as the pleasures of exploring the local restaurants, there are many delicious local wines and most of the local vineyards will welcome you for a degustation (tasting session) - often with a tour of the winery. Visit the delightful town of St Emillion and its world renowned vineyards for a more exclusive Grand Cru, plus do check out the catacombs while you are there. A bit further afield there are picturesque stone villages and dramatic castles on the banks of the Dordogne. The caves in and around Lascaux offer subterranean trips to view the remarkable rock formations and prehistoric paintings. To the west, beyond the city of Bordeaux, visit the Dune du Pilat, claiming to be the largest sand dune in the world, and the wonderful beaches of the Atlantic coast. Bordeaux itself is an impressive city to visit. Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site (as is St Emillion) on account of its outstanding 18th century architecture and concentration of historical buildings, it also boasts an impressive range of galleries and museums. Activities for the more energetic - walking/rambling, fishing, canoeing, horse riding, tennis and cycling are all available nearby. Take a ride in a hot air balloon. Or enjoy a round of golf at Chateau des Vigiers (the exclusive golf and country club is only 15minutes drive from the property).
Enjoy the many delights of the area - local world class wine, superb gastronomique dining, first class golf, ballooning, world heritage sights/cities/towns, archaeological sights, many outdoor activities, including canoeing on Dordogne, archery (locally) and daily vibrant markets.

First comment by reviewer : Accommodation was not clean.
The accommodation was exceedingly clean when the key was handed over.
Second comment by reviewer : No TV or DVD
A DVD player along with a collection of DVD's is supplied for guests. However, as stated in our Holiday Lettings advertisement, there is no television reception here.
Third comment by reviewer : Comfort not ideal and poor furniture.
Comfort is subjective. This is a country property in keeping with the local area. The furniture is rustic, it is solid and sympathetic to the architectural style.
We ourselves normally live in this property when we do not have guests and feel very comfortable in it.
