Welcome to Number 1 Charterhouse which is located in the heart of Lostwithiel on the River Fowey, on the South Coast of Cornwall and close to The Eden Project.
It overlooks the roof tops and church spire of Lostwithiel as well as nearby hills and woodlands. The apartment sleeps comfortably 2 - 6 people with the accommodation spread out over a large area on the whole of the top floor of the old Sunday School. Direct access from the ground level is via a staircase in the tower of the communal hallway.
Our home has recently been extensively renovated to a high standard, retaining lots of original features of the building. All rooms apart from the hallway have vaulted ceilings with the kitchen ceiling over 4 metres high. New fitted kitchen with solid oak worktops, stainless steel appliances including halogen hob, multi-function oven, combination microwave oven, extractor, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Enjoy your stay with us with all mod cons such as coffee machine, sandwich toaster and standard toaster provided. The dining room area has ample seating for six with a Solid Oak table and comfortable chairs. Hardwood high chair that converts to a toddlers table and chair.
The Lounge is situated at the front of the building, south facing with views through two large arched windows down to the floor. Relax infront of the open fire, turn down the lights with the remote control and listen to music, or watch DVDs on the Sony surround sound Home Cinema system. Digital Freeview is also provided. Ceiling is vaulted to 3.6m, retaining its original painted cross beams.
End your day with a relaxing bath in our feature bathroom. Alternatively wake up with a blast in the master bedroom glass shower enclosure with large rain head shower, body jets or varispray head.

The West Country / Cornwall region
Situated on The Cornish Riviera and within easy reach of the South coast and moors. Excellent base for the world the famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. North coast with areas such as Padstow and Rock only 40 mins by car.
Lostwithiel area
With a wide selection of good quality restaurants and pubs to choose from, all with in easy walking distance. Choose from the small and intimate surroundings of Trewithen restaurant, with excellent wines, very good food and service. Highly recommended is our local The Globe Inn with excellent foods and real ales and an all weather heated patio garden. Finest local food served from Fowey Fish and meat from local butchers. Other places to eat include The Grapevine and The Brasserie. There are a total of five pubs to choose from in Lostwithiel.
Only 200 yards away is a large playing field, by the river with swings and slides for the children. Further along the river is another park and you may wish to follow the path to Fowey. Other walks include Restormel Castle only 0.8 miles and Lanhydrock Country House is 3.4 miles. Golfers may wish to use the extensive facilities at the Lostwithiel Golf & Country Club or alternatively Lanhydrock.
Eden Project is local.
Nearby Fowey has to be one of the most attractive and unspoilt parts of Britain's South coast. Busy with yachts and boats, cobbled walkways perfumed with flowed hanging baskets. Fowey Regatta week in August is a hugely popular event, with competitive sailing events, street carnival, The Red Arrows and much, much more. A place not to be missed.

Flights are available into Newquay airport which is only 19 miles from Lostwithiel, direct flights to Gatwick regulary and links worldwide.

Further details indoors: The interior of the apartment has been tastefully decorated in heritage colours. With antique cream ceilings throughout and the structural beams on show detailed in grey. Offering a very interesting space comprising of the following sleeping accommodation:
Master Bedroom with king sized metal scrolled bed, large arched window down to the floor, Victorian cast iron feature fireplace (not used) and multi-function pumped shower enclosure. Heated chrome towel rail. Antique wardrobe and chest of drawers. Twin velux windows to let that famous Cornish light flood in with black out blinds for night time.
Spacious Bedroom 2 with double solid Oak bed, large Antique wardrobe with drawer and dressing table. Twin velux windows with black out blinds.
Bedroom 3 with double bed, side table / cabinet, hanging rails and shelf. Cot provided. Velux window with blind.
All the bedrooms have modern oil filled radiators with separate themostatic control and timer. These are also installed in the Lounge and Kitchen.
The main family bathroom shows a beautiful 100 year old stone wall. The white suite comprises of relaxing shaped bath with chrome thermostatic built in shower over, large Victorian style sink and taps in an Oak gothic vanity unit and push button WC. Porcelain tiles and mosiac borders to some wall areas and the floor. Chrome heated towel rail and large airing cupboard with washing machine and shelving.
