The Scottish Highlands region

Moray is situated on the North East Coast of Scotland and is favoured by the mild Gulf Stream air, miles of excellent beaches and beautiful surrounding countryside. Temperatures in Moray are known to be hotter than the Scottish average. The beautiful county of Moray lies hidden from the main Scottish tourist route, in the north-east of Scotland and is ideally situated in the sheltered Moray firth area between the mountains of the Highlands of Scotland in the west and the Grampians in the east. Moray is a top destination area with plenty to offer tourists.

Lossiemouth

Lossiemouth is a well-known tourist destination with beautiful beaches, a marina, plenty of golf courses and a relatively busy nightlife. Silver Sands is only a 2 minute drive from Lossiemouth town. The caravan itself is situated directly below Covesea lighthouse and is only a 2 minute walk from the West Beach at Covesea which is ideal for swimming and is popular with surfers; you may even spot a few dolphins.

The location is superb for families with many activities close to hand including castles to explore and malt whiskey trails. Here are just a few of the most popular family attractions in the area

Moray Leisure Centre - Elgin (6 miles)

Bowl 2000 - Elgin (6 miles)

Highland Wildlife Park - Kincraig, near Aviemore (65 miles)

Landmark Forest Adventure Park - Carrbridge (45 miles - a must for the kids)

Cardonas Amusement Park - Aberdeen (70 miles)

There are many visitor centres in the area for you to enjoy. Here are just a few that are close by

Baxters Highland Village - Fochabers (14 miles)

Walkers Shortbread - Aberlour (21 miles)

Brodie Countryfair - Between Forres & Inverness (22 miles)

If you fancy some serious shopping then Aberdeen is only a 70 mile journey by car and even closer is Inverness if you fancy a day exploring loch ness
