Blessed by the mild Mediterranean climate it has at least 315 days of sun per year. Minimum temperatures range between 12-14C and maximum temperatures between 20-22C in winter. Summer temperatures vary between 18-20C minimum and between 30-35C maximum.

The average annual temperature is 18C. The two main provinces in this region are MURCIA and Almeria. This stretch of coastline runs from San Pedro del Pinatar, at the northern end of the Mar Menor to south of Puerto de Mazarron. It is in two parts; the most northerly section consists of the La Manga peninsula and Mar Menor, the southerly section extends from the promontory of Cabo de Palos to the resort town of Aguilas. The Mar Menor was created a little over 1000 years ago. Originally a safe little bay, offering shelter for even large ships, it became a natural lagoon when sediments from the sea built up on a small underwater mountain range and closed off the inlet with a sandbar. On its Western side is mainland Spain , and on its Eastern side is La Manga de Mar Menor, a strip of land

The descriptive name of La Manga ("the sleeve") refers to an interesting geographical layout which has become one of the symbols that best identifies the coast of Murcia as a tourist resort: a chain that stretches along approximately 24 km from Cabo de Palos to the Punta del Mojón, and is the natural limit of the salt water lake known as the Mar Menor. Two seas on one coastline – the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean – , impressive cliffs, heavenly beaches of endless white sand, lively ports and wild coves with crystal clear water, more than 3,000 hours of sun a year and mild temperatures – even in winter – with a yearly average of more than 18ºC.

This is the Costa Cálida, the ideal place to spend some days relaxing both in winter and summer. Due to it being located between two seas, La Manga is also an ideal place for water sports. There are sailing and skiing schools that run periodical courses, as well as windsurfing and catamarans. The Mediterranean can be enjoyed by those who prefer high waves for windsurfing and the entire coast also offers a series of areas that are ideally suited and perfectly isolated for diving, such as Cabo de Palos and the rocky depths next to Isla Grosa Holiday accommodation on Mar Menor Costa Calida is perfect for anyone who appreciates the dramatic scenic landscapes of the Mar Menor Costa Calida- apartments in Mar Menor Costa Calida providing the opportunity to discover the countless stunning beaches and un-developed rocky coves that offer idyllic locations for fun and relaxation in the unbroken sunshine of a Mediterranean holiday
