Home description
Typical of Spanish apartments. Decorated with white washed walls, pine shutters, ceramic floor tiles, white kitchen.
Apartment itself is situated away from any roads and near a pedestrianised walk-way with just a few minutes walk to shops, restaurants and Las Vistas beach. Check the Map on this site (aerial version to zoom in ). The apartment is handy for popping back from the beach when it gets too hot.
Open style lounge / kitchen, breakfast bar, double sofa-bed, coffee table and patio doors out to the walled terrace. Equipped for long stay guests (microwave/combination oven), washing machine, plenty of storage, TV (for Spanish TV only, videos and DVDs), CD and radio, full size ironing board, steam iron and a safe. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, WC, bidet and mirror with shaving points.
An apartment manager is local to the apartment should you have any problems.
My three neighbours also have similar apartments if you have a large group to accommodate.

The Tenerife region
The apartment is on El Cardon which is accessed from the main entrance on the road, or a back entrance off the pedestrianised walk-way to 'The Golden Mile' (prestigious shops, theatre, supermarket, beaches and restaurants).
Weather in Tenerife is usually 22-30 degrees and makes it perfect for all ages. It is warm enough for sunbathing and swimming at Christmas time. The many beaches can be enjoyed by those wishing to just stroll along admiring the view or those more energetic looking for exciting water sports and surfing.
Restaurants serve locally caught fresh fish. Local wines along with the famous brands are also in plentiful supply. Don't forget the Cava for that extra special occasion. Different national dishes are available in the surrounding restaurants - lots with a sea and sun-set view.
Exploring the island is easy. Motorways provide quick access to the other coastlines for those with a car. The bus service is very good and there are also a number of excursions to the various places of interest.
Los Cristianos / Arona area
The days of 18-30 clubs are over. The area is now popular with couples and families of all nationalities enjoying the good weather, long beaches, pedestrianised walk ways, lovely shops and restaurants. The outlying villages and attractions are worth a visit.
Whale and dolphin boat trips, deep sea fishing, parascending, climbing, walking, horse riding, surfing are all within a short distance of the apartment and Los Cristianos/Las Americas.

El Medano Kite-surfing and wind-surfing are just 20 minutes by car/50 minutes by bus. Surfing is also possible just off Las Vistas Beach.
All taxi drivers know of El Cardon and it is usually only the equivalent of a few euros to go out in the evenings into the villages or across to the busier area of Las Americas.

How to get there
15 minutes drive West from Tenerife South Airport. We can organise transport to the apartment. Ryan Air offering cheap flights from November 2009. Monarch for flights out and back on any day and not just a standard 7, 10 or 14 day return flight. Easyjet, AVRO and other large tour operators offer flights only. Book well in advance for bargain flights - remember extra surcharges and tax applies.

Further details indoors: Relaxed and comfy the apartment is ideally suited to those wanting to be near the shops, cafes, beaches and Las Americas golf club. The kitchen is fully stocked with cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, microwave, toaster, juicer and water filter jug, washing machine and vacuum cleaner.
The sofa is comfortable both for sitting or sleeping on. There are lots of books, CDs, DVDs, videos and 5 Spanish TV channels for those who speak Spanish. There is also a CD and DVD player.
The Terrace has 4 patio chairs and table and two recliner chairs. There is also a small cactus garden for those who want to tend plants on holiday !
The bathroom is clean, tidy, functional and has a shower over the bath. Hot water is plentiful as it is heated centrally.
The apartment has double glazed patio doors and windows along with pine shutters to keep the heat out. There is a safe in the apartment for those wishing to keep precious belongings together in one place.
The pool has just been overhauled to meet European pool safety regulations. You must use the pool-side shower before getting into the pool.
Further details outdoors: A heated sea-water pool is within a few yards of the apartment.
Reception/Security are situated close-by. Sun loungers can be hired for a few euros a day on the complex and there are more on the beach. The whole area is always kept spotlessly clean with the walk ways washed and swept each day. It is rare to have lots of people in the pool area as the beach is so near.
The complex obeys a variety of rules designed to keep the complex safe, secure and quiet. There are a number of Spanish people living in El Cardon and they also work, so there are rarely any loud social gatherings after 11pm. Night security keep an eye on any anti-social activities !
Within a few minutes walk of the apartment are Las Vistas Beach, Las Americas Plaza shops, cocktail bars, jazz barr, Pyramide de Arona theatre/opera house, bistros and diving school and internet cafes. 5-10 minute stroll are also Los Cristianos perfume and cosmetic shops, Banks, Cultural Centre, older style restaurants and shops, harbour (for ferry to La Gomera) and the beach volley ball competitions which take place during the Summer. Los Cristianos Sunday market is a must.
10-15 minutes stroll in the opposite direction takes you to central Las Americas. 18-30 style bars of the 80s and 90s have made way for an older generation enjoying restaurants, bistros and shops - many offering well known Brands (Cartier, Rolex, Gucci, Prada, Zara and Mango). You will also find Porto Colon marina and Del Duque further on round the coast from Las Americas beach.
A large, air conditioned supermarket (similar to Waitrose) selling fresh fish, meat and vegetables along with the usual groceries is within 1 minute of the apartment (no roads to cross). The smell of fresh baked bread fills the air in the mornngs !
The immediate area is wheelchair and buggy friendly . Lots of pedestrianised walk ways stretch several miles from Los Cristianos to Del Duque. 'Siam Park' water theme area is now open and not far from the apartment. A must for those with children... or a spirit of adventure.
The villages and other Tenerife coastal towns are worth viewing and a car may be required. Alternatively the bus/coach service is excellent and leave from bus stops a few minutes from the apartment.
For those wanting to spend the UK winter in Tenerife, you won't be alone. Los Cristianos area has a lot of recently retired people who congregate for the Winter (The Swallows). They enjoy all sorts of hobbies and interests, (art classes, excursions, Church and choir singing, coffee mornings, walks (Mt Teide and local mountains), wind surfing and para scending).

£50 damage deposit is payable upon confirming the booking. Remainder of payment 4 weeks before departure. Rental periods are Saturday to Saturday although we can accommodate arrivals on different days.
Long lets for long holidays can be accommodated. We can do special rates for long lets.
We provide linen and towels (except beach towels) for your stay. There is also a vacuum cleaner for those who fancy a little housekeeping !
Conditions
The apartment is ground floor but there are three steps up to the front door. It may be suitable for wheelchair users depending on whether you can walk or manouevre up the steps with assistance.
There are a number of pedestrianised pathways which accommodate the less-able. The beach-side area has several mobility scooter hire places. Car and bike hire places are also near the apartment.

Thanks for letting us stay in your lovely apartment. We met some lovely people there and enjoyed the tranquility of the pool and apartments at night time. We really enjoyed the nearness of the top quality shops...Prada especially...but only for window shopping ! Angela and Liz.
The apartment is ideal for my wife and children for the beach and shopping, whilst I spent many a happy hour golfing. We all took advantage of the lovely walk-ways whilst deciding which of the any restaurants we would eat in during the evening. Ron and Karen, Joe, Suzi and Matthew.
