"Nice 1 week holiday"
The group was myself, my fiancee, her friend and her friends child who was just under 2 years old.
We arranged for transfers from/to the airport through the letting agent. We were met at the airport by Henning who helped us to his spacious people carrier. He advised that there had been a leak in the apartment and we would have to stay at the San Marino apartment temporarily or if we wanted for the duration of the stay. The San Marino apartments were in a residential block and the pool was very quiet. The people who clean the apartment advised that the Los Alisios apartment should be fixed that day and they would take us over to have a look.
Upon seeing the Los Alisios apartment we knew we wanted to stay there as it was much brighter, pool view and sea in the distance and was part of a holiday complex so there was a livelier atmosphere.
The apartment is on the 4th floor and as mentioned it is bright, 2 double bedrooms (1 with a small en suite), a small bathroom located between the 2 bedrooms, open plan kitchen with breakfast bar, lounge area with couch and TV/DVD and a large balcony.
The apartments do not have air conditioning so were supplied with 2 fans, would have probably been better with 3 but we were not bothered and if it had been an issue I am sure if we had asked they would have supplied another fan.
There was milk, teabags, coffee, sugar, 2 cans of beer and a bottle of white wine in the apartment when we arrived which was very kind. The kitchen has all utensils etc needed if cooking in the apartment. The fridge is not great, even at the lowest setting does not get things really cold which helps when in such a humid place.
Both bathrooms are small but are well maintained with working showers.
The living room has a couch, TV with british channels, dvd player and dvds (plenty of Ally McBeal DVDs??? (-: ).
The complex has a good sized pool with a small infants pool. The loungers are free and we never had any problem getting 3 together. The only issue is the fact that the complex circles the pool and the buildings block the early morning/late evening sun. There is a bar area where you can get food and drinks, one of the barmen was a very nice guy and gave us a few free drinks. There are a lot of French guests and so the daytime entertainment is in French but it wasn't something we were getting involved in so we didn't mind.
There is a small shop at the back of the bar which sell newspapers and a few other things but 5 mins from the apartment is a supermarket (which was shown to us before we arrived). If you go to the roundabout and go left then take a right onto the next main road you see it. There are a few good restaurants/bars on this road also.
The apartments are about a 10-15 mins walk to the beaches/promenade area of Los Cristianos.
We all enjoyed our stay at the apartments, we were looking for a cheap week in the sun and this met our needs perfectly. If we were to return to Tenerife we would definitely consider these apartments if we were on a budget.
The apartments are on a hill and not ideal for disabled/elderly people or people who just don't like walking up hills.
Thank you for very detailed comments about Los Alisios. However, I must point out that San Marino is part residential and part tourist. It benefits from a very central location.
Los Alisios on the other hand, is a full tourist resort with all the usual amenities.
It really depends what you are looking for in a holiday, so it is important to ask questions before you book.
We provide a DVD player for guests to bring their own DVDs - but we gather quite a few from previous guests - obviously tastes differ!
You are correct - if you had asked for another fan, one would have been supplied. Also, had you mentioned the problem with the fridge freezer, this would also have been attended to.
We ask all of our potential guests if there are any special requirements, and invite them to ask questions about properties and the area, to ensure they book what is right for them, especially if they are elderly or have mobility issues.
The apartment is indeed 10-15 minutes walk to the beach and promenade, and this is clearly stated in the apartment details in Holiday Lettings

"A Great Holiday"
Our first visit to Tenerife, 9th to 23rd March 2013, and had a great holiday.
We were greeted by Nancy Hall, who, even though she had been waiting nearly one an half hours due to luggage delay, gave us the most warm and friendly welcome. She escorted us right into the apartment after giving us a tour of the town and giving us invaluable information re shopping, places to visit, restaurants in which to eat and especially where best to stand to watch the Carnival next day. Thank you so much Nancy you saved our first day.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with all required for a good self catering holiday. The balcony was sunny from about mid morning to sunset, with a little shade for those not wanting to sit in full sun and with a view of the pool and distant sea - ideal for evening meals.
We had a wonderful holiday and hope to return sometime soon.

We arrived at the apartment and were met by Nancy Hall who even helped us with our luggage. Once in the apartment she quickly gave us a tour and explained how things worked and showed us our welcome pack which included wine, beer, water, tea coffee and milk. She also gave some information on local shopping etc. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped for our stay. We generally eat out every evening and occasionally prepare a light lunch in the accommodation together with breakfast. However, had we wanted to cook there was a full cooker and all the pots/pans you could need. The balcony had a view over the pool area with the sea in the background and had the sun on it from about 10 am till sunset each day. The position of the complex suited us perfectly as we do not like to be in the centre of a resort but rather like being a bit further away which usually gurantees a good nights sleep. That was certainly the case here, although it was only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the harbour area which was really nice for walking off a great meal each evening. There was a bar on the complex which served snacks and had some low key entertainment each evening. We did not swim in the pool as it was unheated but the sea was nice and warm so we swam there instead. All in all the apartment was exactly as described and I would definitely book here again if I return to Tenerife.
