House | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Furnished, first-floor, mid-'20s flapper-era single villa, equidistant from the Mid-Wilshire, Melrose and Fairfax Ave. districts--only a few blocks from the Grove, CBS Studios, and Cedars-Sinai medical offices. Guest has own front door, street address and 175 sf, verdant front patio perfect for al fresco dining. Plus two (2) Italian-made beds with French linens and other European furnishings. Walk to other Hollywood-adjacent areas like Beverly and La Brea Blvds. Five or ten minutes to famous sites such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Vine St. Apt.'s amenities fully updated with new paint, hardwood floors; a new, fully-equipped, sunny kitchen and laundry-room (with full washer-dryer separates); the new front patio with 9-foot umbrella for open-air dining; a walk-in closet; an Italian-made queen-sized bed with French linens; an Italian-made slide-out twin daybed/couch for loved ones or friends in tow; a new 42" LCD TV with DirectTV (cable TV with movie channels), and a long desk and desk chair. Also within a few minutes' walk: The famous Farmer's Market (casual showbiz meeting place with groceries and ethnic food stalls). Take short walks, too, to nearby high-end cafes/shops offering kosher and ethnic cuisine. Or easily walk and succumb to Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or Erewon or Ralph's supermarkets nearby. Walk to Pan Pacific Park with its hiking trails, Holocaust museum, and free fitness center. Five minute, two-mile trip to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by car. Even less distance to Wilshire Bl., to three noteworthy, adjacent museums--the L.A. County Museum of Art , The Craft & Folk Art Museum, and the Petersen Automotive Museum. Driving guests have on-street permit-parking. A car is not essential, however, due both to the central location and public transit nearby. If a car is still desired, the nearest Hertz Rent-a-Car is a 12 min. walk away (.6 mi); the nearest Enterprise Rent-a-Car, a 13 min. walk away (.7 mi). Agent/mgr available 24/7 for onsite and other assistance. Hang your hat here to avoid those busy, difficult hotels-motels during your L.A. stay--whether as a working professional with an L.A. gig or contract or a shameless cruising "Travelartist" reveling in Tinseltown's eternal summer!
Here are some FAQs and their answers:
Is the area safe? Yes, residents use sidewalks and streets well into the night, and not too noisily, so that crime is highly suppressed. Meanwhile, the house and its large front patio lie in a direct beam of light from a bright streetlight about 50 feet away. In addition, the patio and the building have their own outdoor lights, barred windows, and double deadbolt locks.
What is the area really like? An amazing combination of quiet/private, on the one hand, and metropolitan-cosmopolitan, even touristy, on the other.
Are there any supermarkets nearby? Yes. It's a short walk to multiple Ralphs, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and Erewhon.
What is the nearest subway station? It's at Hollywood & Highland, site of the Kodak Theater and the film industry's annual Academy Awards.
Is any parking available? There is plentiful permit-parking in front of the building; don't worry, the host provides the permit, which you return with your key at the end of your stay. :)

The California region
Neighborhood is the epicenter of hip and fashionable L.A. We are six blocks from nearly everything: the Grove, where TMZ and ET juices fans with daily celebrity interviews, top restos -- think Mark Peel, Nancy Silverton, Hatfields, Splichal, and a phalanx of rising chef stars line the blocks along Melrose, Beverly, Fairfax, La Brea and minutes away by foot. Designer showrooms add eye candy along the way. Cafes, coffee shops, free entertainment at the Farmer's Market and Grove on weekends, and great parks and open spaces for jogging, walking, thinking. All within a stones's throw of your private LA villa.
We are located in the center of West L.A.: in driving, that means: 20 min from Santa Monica and the beach, 10 minutes from mid wilshire, 12 minutes from Beverly Hills, 18 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. Five minutes from great hiking and views up Runyon Cyn, but you can see the Hollywood sign from the house. Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Blvd. are 7 minutes away.
