Bungalow Court in Bohemian ...
House | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Echo Park has enjoyed a colorful Bohemian history. Today, the Bungalow Court is in a quiet block of small homes with a sidewalk cafe and bakery at the corner. Sunset Boulevard — one mile south — has a mix of old time ethnic restaurants and bodegas side by side with cybercafes and popular clubs.
The bungalows were originally built for the nearby studios of the silent film era. While not disturbing the resident ghosts, the cottages have been updated with new bathrooms and kitchens, modern appliances, heating, air-conditioning and wireless Internet access.
Five Bungalows in a courtyard setting in Echo Park
The Bungalows are professionally managed by VillaWest which specializes in short-term rentals for entertainment industry people and others in creative fields who need a place to work and play while in Los Angeles.
Four of our bungalows have a living room, bedroom, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with tub/shower. The bungalows are small — 400 sq. feet — but ideal for one person, or a couple, for a temporary stay.
Our larger bungalow, at 450 sq. feet is set up with a living room with a daybed so that the bungalow can be shared by housemates as a 2 studio bedroom space with a shared kitchen and bathroom. There are lockable doors between each of the rooms for privacy and a desk and TV in each room. It's also ideal for an individual or couple wishing a larger space and/or a place for overnight guests.
Small pets are welcome. To accommodate industry people on the go, only three days notice is required to move.

The California region
Echo Park is a 120-year-old, walk-able neighborhood just west of Downtown L.A. Since its start, this diverse community has been home to working class families and blossoming artists, musicians and writers. Before World War I, the neighborhood was nicknamed “Red Hill” because of the political radicals living in the area, like folksinger Woody Guthrie who lived on Preston Avenue at Ewing St. in the 1930s.
Echo Park is home to the annual Lotus Festival, the Cuban Festival, and historic Filipinotown, as well as world-class dining, beautiful craftsman-style homes, modern architecture, great schools, parks and libraries.
