The Costa Calida/Murcia region
This part of the country benefits from the warmest climate in the country. With over 300 sunshine days a year, this is a perfect holiday spot for sun-seekers.
Costa Calida stretches for over 250 km of Mediterranean coast line with golden-sand beaches and holiday resorts. it also has Europe's largest saltwater lagoon, so popular amongst holiday makers - the Mar Menor.
Murcia is the capital of the Region of Murcia in Spain. The river Segura flows through the town, which is set among orchards of lemon trees and vegetable fields, you will find a considerable range of cultural and leisure activities to enjoy and some excellent shopping areas.
There is always plenty to do and see in the region and Murcia itself, from the coast line and traditional villages scattered around to famous and magnificent cathedrals, palaces, churches and museums.
Cartagena is a famous naval port and its history dates back to pre Roman times here you will find places of historical interest a long with many famous stores to browse in and cafe bars and restaurants to stop at and watch the world go by. Also in the month of September ( you need to check date) they have a most spectacular Fiestas in the Region, which last 4 days and where you will find Roman soldiers,barbarians and carthaginians marching through Cartagena .
Los Alcazares / La Puebla area
La Puebla is a small typical Spanish village and is 5 minutes to Los Alcazares. The village has a bar, restaurant, bakery, supermarket, bank, coffee shop, and pharmacy and a lovely local church which is surounded by orange trees you will also find a windmill which stands proud in the village and has the backdrop of the mountains all around it.
There are Golf courses within easy reach of La Puebla and can be found within a short drive from the town. The towns of Murcia and Cartagena can be reached by car or by bus from the village.
Los Alcazares (pronounced 'los-alcatha-res') has one of the most beautiful Blue Flag beaches on the Costa Calida. It's palm lined promenade stretched about four kilometres to Los Narejos and blue flag all the way. Also it offers every kind of facility for a larger town with some fantastic eating places, some excellent nightlife, festivals and carnivals throughout the year, as well as a twice weekly market selling everthing from curtains to fresh local vegetables.
The warm water of the Mar Menor helps make the town a paradise for bathers and watersports enthusiasts. The mineral-rich water of the Mar Menor is revered for its health-giving properties and the town still has thermal baths which have existed since Roman times.
The beaches, many blue flag standard, are wide sandy and mostly skirted by paved promenades with plenty of beach side restaurants and snack bars. Ideal for children and water sport enthusiasts alike. Due to the flat landscape around the it's also very popular with cyclists.
There are lots of golf courses in the area including Roda Golf, La Manga Golf & Country Club, La Torre and Polaris World Mar Menor with several more opening in the near future.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Murcia (San Javier) about 10km away.
Alicante airport is about 55 minutes drive. Jet2, Ryanair and Monarch all fly into Murcia from UK airports. Local taxis are available at the airport and should cost around 30 euros, but we can also arrange a pick-up if preferred.
Car hire is available at the airport but can be booked in advance via internet. If you need details for car hire please contact us and we will supply you with a list of local suppliers.

Further details indoors: The apartment consists of a large living area which leads off to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen is spacious and separate to the living area.
Patio doors from the living area and also the master bedroom lead to a large balcony furnished with a table and six chairs which is a great place to have your breakfast.
The balcony leads to a large private solarium where you can choose to lie in the sun all day.
