Home description
Spacious luxury home on the Mar Menor with swimming pool, tennis, full air conditioning, only 2 mins walk from the beach. Set in a quiet location with beautiful views. Sailing, windsurfing and kayaking at our water sports centre just 10 mins away. 10% discount for couples (during low & mid-season).
This modern 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom property is situated at the edge of Estrella de Mar (10 mins south of Los Alcazares) with views to the distinctive hill of El Carmoli and the Mar Menor. The villa is very well appointed and spacious internally (it originally had 3 bedrooms) and also has as attractive patio garden and balcony.
The Mar Menor is a huge salt-water lagoon, the ideal location for all types of water sports and very safe for swimming. Its calm shallow waters are the warmest in Europe and shelve very gently so it is ideal for small children.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The small fishing village of LOS URRUTIAS is a short walk (3 minutes) away. It has a grocery store, marina, local shops, restaurants and a market on Thursday mornings.
A 5km drive takes you to LOS ALCAZARES, an old fishing town that has grown into a popular resort. Excellent shallow sandy beaches particularly safe for children as there are no tides or currents in the Mar Menor lagoon. Also come here for shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars.
CALBLANQUE Natural Park (12km) is a remote area of gorgeous sandy beaches backed by rocky hills accessible only by a dirt track. Well worth discovering!!
CABO DE PALOS (12 km) has a lighthouse and a lovely old harbour well known for its fish restaurants.
The old Moorish cities of CARTAGENA (20km) and MURCIA (30km) are an excellent day trip for their shops, architecture and history (Roman ruins in Cartagena).
LA MANGA DEL MAR MENOR (15km) is the place to go for nightlife, shopping, water activities and great beaches.
LA MANGA CLUB, famous for its sporting facilities, is just 10km away. 3 top class 18 hole golf courses, a football centre that attracts premiership teams for winter training, tennis centre, mountain bike hire, hotel and spa. There are 7 golf courses within a 30 minute drive to cater for all handicap levels and more being constructed.
There are many activities available in the local area. Information on the following are available at the villa; where to practice and hire equipment for windsurfing, kitesurfing, dinghy, yacht and catamaran sailing, horse riding, mountain biking, quad bikes, tennis, diving.

Los Alcazares / Los Urrutias area
Set in a rural location and surrounded by farm land and open countryside Estrella is a small quiet village with a mixture of residents and holiday visitors. The village is beautifully laid out with parks and gardens, wide streets and typical Spanish architecture. No building stands more than two stories high.
The village has several communal facilities for use by residents and guests which include: Swimming Pool, Tennis Courts, Mini Golf and Children's play area
The beach is very quiet and picturesque with views across the Mar Menor. It has great sand for making castles (if that is what you are into!) also, the water of the Mar Menor is incredibly warm throughout the year. The water is very calm and shelves very gently so it is ideal for small children.
Estrella de Mar is actually considered to be part of Los Urrutias though they are separated by a large field.
How to get there
Murcia airport (MJV) is only 15 minutes away and Alicante (ALC) airport is 1 hour. Both airports are served by both low cost and full service airlines making it easy for you to get there from your local airport. Flights to Alicante are available from most airports.

Double bed is two 3 foot singles joined together to make a king size double bed, they can be made up separately if required.
Wheelchair accessible except for single step at front door, double sofa bed is on the ground floor and ground floor shower room. Estrella de Mar and the surrounding area is flat so the walk to the beach, the promenade and restaurants is all on the level.
Further details outdoors: Outside the attractively planted patio garden has sun loungers, plus a traditional tiled table and seating. A table and chairs is also available on the balcony which has panoramic views to the islands in the Mar Menor, the marina and surrounding countryside.
The beach is only a minutes walk (100m) away and there are four restaurants in this small and quiet village. The beach club (for use by residents & guests) has a swimming pool (new June 2006), tennis courts, table tennis, mini golf and a multi sport area for basketball and football.

We were provided with all our needs especially as our granddaughter, 1 year old, accompanied us. The owners provided us with excellent service in the way of helping us to locate car hire and baby equipment. The property was cleaned every week, with clean linen/towels also being provided. The journey planner from the airport (Murcia) was spot on! However, the restaurants were few but the one we visited at the end of the road from the villa provided us with excellent food and a very friendly service. Providing for the baby was no problem. The area is very quiet just perfect for listening to the crickets of an evening whilst sipping a glass of wine! The beaches along the coast were indeed very safe for our granddaughter, exactly as the owners had informed us.
