The penthouse is south-facing with a balcony and a large roof terrace. It has full air-conditioning and central-heating.

The front door leads into the lounge/dining area, off which are the kitchen and a corridor to the two bedrooms and bathrooms. Patio doors from the lounge area lead on to an outside terrace with dining table and chairs, which overlooks the community swimming pool and landscaped gardens.

Both bedrooms, one of which is en-suite, can be configured in advance with either king-size or twin beds making it suitable for families or groups; in addition, the sofa in the lounge converts to another small double bed, giving space for up to 6 people in total. The second bathroom is next to the second bedroom.

The lounge area has a leather sofa (bed) and an armchair. There is a flat-screen TV and a DVD; several UK channels are available as well as a number of European digital channels.

The kitchen has all the usual fixtures and appliances, including a washing machine and dishwasher, and there is a hatchway through to the inside dining area.

Upstairs is the magnificent roof terrace.(Please note we have a stone staircase - some apartments have a metal spiral staircase). This covers more or less the same floor area as the inside of the apartment, so there is plenty of space! Up here you will find a fantastic new pergola which is essential to escape the summer heat for a while, built-in bar with fridge and cupboards, another dining table for 6, a BBQ and sun loungers. There is also lighting, power points and water and a collection of tropical plants. Ths is a wonderful place to enjoy the sunshine during the day and then watch the sun go down over the mountains whilst enjoying a glass or two of wine and maybe a BBQ.

This apartment block is one of three built on ground slightly higher than all others in the vicinity, so the views are outstanding. From one side you can see the golf course, the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor and La Manga strip adjacent to the mountains of the Calblanque regional park. Turn round and watch the sun setting behind the mountains of the Parque Natural de el Valle, just this side of Murcia city.

The Costa Calida region

Next to the Mediterranean and with nearly 300 days of sunshine each year, the unspoilt region of Murcia offers the best of south-eastern Spain. There is much to see, from the mountains and the historic city of Murcia in the north, to the beautiful beaches of the Costa Calida (warm coast) and the Mar Menor.

The region is undergoing tasteful development, combining golf courses and other leisure activities, with mediterranean-style accommodation and landscaping.

Roda resort is just over 1 km from the beach at Los Alcazares and the Mar Menor, a natural lagoon of the Mediterranean, bounded on the outer side by the La Manga peninsula. Here the water is sheltered and a couple of degrees warmer than the outside sea, making for pleasant and safe bathing and water sports.

Although it does not receive much publicity, Murcian food and drink has a great deal to offer. Specialities include: delicately flavored rice, stews, soups and seafood delicacies. Murcia also has plenty for vegetarians, with a rich selection of locally grown fruits, salads and vegetables. The jewel in Murcia’s culinary crown is generally regarded as tapas, with the region considered as the home of the best examples in Spain. And the region possesses vineyards, which produce wines that are rapidly gaining wider recognition.

Los Alcazares

Conceptually, the resort has been designed to focus on nature and sun, in a secure and tranquil environment. Access to the site is through a security entrance, and for the most part driving is limited to a peripheral road.

The accommodation at Roda is arranged around the outside of the golf course and includes villas, town houses and apartments. The apartment blocks, mostly containing 12 apartments divided over 3 floors, are located in inter-connected u-shaped communities around landscaped relaxation areas, each with their own pool. This arrangement allows plenty of light in the semi-enclosed areas, while providing shelter from winds. The top-floor apartments (of which ours is one) have their own solariums, giving day-long access to the sun, in a secluded environment. The apartment blocks have secure underground parking, with lifts to all floors. At night, all walkways are attractively lit.

Great attention has been given to planting and landscaping, which is being carried out to the highest specification and standard, and cannot fail to impress.

The central feature of the resort is the magnificent newly constructed 18-hole course, designed by Dave Thomas and with Sam Torrance as its Captain. Several prestigious tournaments have already taken place here and the course is attracting attention from some famous sporting stars. It has been built to the highest technical specifications and features a rolling landscape, with lakes, palm trees and lush vegetation, making the course both attractive and challenging. The facilities include a practice range, a putting green and a Club House with a restaurant enjoying unbeatable views over the lake at the 18th hole.

A tennis court and two paddle-tennis courts are available and a multi-purpose sports pitch.

Los Alcazares has a multitude of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.

There are many beautiful 'blue flag' beaches within a 5 minute drive.

Security is paramount at Roda with Security at the entrance to the resort and security guards who patrol regularly.

"Relaxing holiday in lovely apartment"

We have visited the apartment twice this year, both in summer and this autumn, and had a lovely stay every time. Roda is a great resort with a lovely club house where you can sit down for a meal, or only some refreshment.
Beside golf, there are many other opportunities for activity. E.g the resort has a fitness center and you can play paddle.

The apartment was booked through the owner Yvette, who always quickly responded to our inquiries.
On arrival we were welcomed by the key holder Flan, and he and his wife Marian were very kind and helpful, when we contacted them a couple of times during the stay.

The apartment is well equipped, clean and delicate. It has a large roof terrace with a beautiful view. There are a fridge, sun beds and a dining table for 6. In the summer we spent some evenings here preparing food from the grill. The grill is a bit small, and we could wish for a gill of better quality. In the garden there is a communal pool.

If you prefer the beach, there are plenty to choose from. We spent many days on the beaches at Mar Menor, but Calblanque, a beautiful beach in a national park, a 30 min. drive towards La Manga became our favorite.

Los Alcazares and the surrounding areas offer a great number of good restaurants, La vid Ojeda, Rosalind´s roof terrace, L´Encarnacion and Canela, to mention some.

If you are interested in shopping, there are many opportunities. The shopping mall "Dos Mares" is only a 10. min. drive from Roda. Another mall is "Espacio Mediterraneo", a 20 min. drive towards Cartagena. There are several "Decathlon" shops in the area, which offer sports equipment at very good prices.

All in all we had great holidays on Roda, and we can highly recommend this apartment and resort to others. We have already made reservations for next year.

"Very comfortable and well appointed with excellent roof terrace."

The rooms are furnished attractively and comfortably making for a relaxing holiday
The kitchen has all the equipment you might need
The location is good although you do need a car but supermarket, beach, very good restaurants and small town just 5 or 10 minute drive away
Golf Course is very good and the Clubhouse is useful for snacks or a meal with lovely views over the course. We made use of the tennis court, but not the 2 paddle tennis courts attached ! The staff are helpful and courteous.
We were welcomed by Maryon who looks after the property who was most helpful.
The underground garage parking was a lovely bonus

"ideal for golfers, comfy appartment with great roof terrace"

Comfortable penthouse apartment - the roof terrace makes it very special indeed, we loved it and spent the best part of every day there; when we weren't golfing, the area really is great for golfers and the course is always in good condition. there is a discount on green fees and food in the clubhouse for residents. you are 5 mins from the town and 10 from the airport,so a car isnt essential .there are plenty of restaurants in the town and taxis are readily available.

"FANTASTIC APARTMENT, A HOME FROM HOME IN THE SUN"

We stayed for one week at this apartment on the Roda Golf Resort in July and had a fabulous time. The apartment had everything we could have hoped for, and more.
Very well equipped, and the sun terrace is amazing, with dining furniture and a fridge which was an added bonus. Everything we needed was to hand.

We did not make much use of the communal pool, however, when we did venture down to it we found it to be clean and very well maintained.

The Club House on site is very nice, with great food at very reasonable prices. A nice stroll back to the apartment after dinner allows you to walk off any over-indulgences too!

We enjoyed the holiday so much we went back for a long weekend in October, and will no doubt be back again in 2012! Would definitely recommend.
