This apartment is tastefully furnished to a very high standard and is situated within a family friendly well presented gated community in Puerto Marina, Pueblo Patricia in Los Alcazares in the Murcia region of South East Spain, also known as the Costa Calida.
The master double bedroom has an ensuite shower room and all the bedrooms have built in wardrobes.
The bathroom is fully tiled throughout and fitted with WC, bidet, washbasin and bath with shower.
The kitchen is fully fitted including a washing machine, fridge/freezer, hob, oven, microwave, iron and ironing board, pots and pans plus all the extras you would expect.
There is a new 26" flatscreen TV, satellite TV system and DVD player. A small safe is installed in the apartment.
In the apartment we also have a selection of DVDs and books available. There is also a TV with a Play Station 2 and a selection of games in one of the twin bedrooms.
Linen and towels are provided. There is a hairdryer, straighteners and beach towels available for your convenience. Please ensure the beach towels are washed after use. The air conditioning is metered with pre-paid cards available for purchase from the owners before departure.
Patio doors lead out of the apartment onto the spacious balcony, and which overlooks two of the pools. The balcony has a table and chairs to enjoy some alfresco dining.
Set on the outskirts of the lovely town of Los Alcazares and just a 10 minute stroll to the beautiful bay of the Mar Menor. The town, which is a few minutes stroll away, has many amenities including supermarkets, shops and restaurants serving everything from pizza to steak to sushi. There is also a good selection of bars including some great traditional Spanish tapas bars. The Old Town features a market square which buzzes with life on Tuesday's market day. A local market each Saturday is situated within a 10 minute walk.
The beautiful beach is perfect for sunbathing and swimming during the day and also for a stroll along in the evening, which is a favourite pastime of the local Spanish families. The sea is shallow and gently shelving making it suitable for all abilities of bathers and is renowned for its healing properties. The whole area in and around Los Alcazares is very flat and is excellent for disabled access.
A car is not necessary, however, if you wish to experience the beauty of the surrounding area you can hire one from either San Javier or Alicante airport.
The apartment is only 20 minutes north of the world renowned La Manga Club which has 3 top class golf courses. Roda and La Serena Golf Courses are within 5 minutes drive of the apartment and another 4 golf courses are around 20 minutes drive away.
Cycling (bikes can be hired nearby), diving, fishing, golf, paragliding, sailing, swimming, tennis, walking, water skiing, wind-surfing.
Murcia/San Javier Airport is a ten minute drive away and Alicante Airport is 45 minutes away. There are several low cost airlines which use these airports, including Ryanair, Jet2 and Easyjet.
Public transport is available to visit the nearby cities of Cartagena and Murcia. Further details of the area can be obtained from the nearby Tourist Information Office.

The Murcia region
The Region of Murcia is bordered by Andalusia (the provinces of Almería and Granada); Castile–La Mancha (the province of Albacete, which was historically connected to Murcia until 1980); the Valencian Community (province of Alicante); and the Mediterranean Sea. The community measures 11,313 km² and has a population of 1.4 million, of whom one-third live in the capital. The highest mountain is Los Obispos (2,015 m).
The region is a major producer of fruits, vegetables, and flowers for Spain and the rest of Europe. Wineries have developed near the towns of Bullas, Yecla, and Jumilla, as well as olive oil near Moratalla.
Murcia is mainly a warm region which has made it very suitable for agriculture.
Los Alcazares lies approximately 30km north of Cartagena a delightful Roman port city which has recently been revitalized and 50km south of Alicante.
The apartment is within a 10 minute drive of Murcia airport and 45 minutes from Alicante. The town has many amenities including several supermarkets and shops situated within a 5 minute walk, with restaurants serving everything from steak to sushi.
The town is well connected to the upgraded Spanish motorway network and there are regular flights from and to many European cities to Murcia/San Javier International Airport which is only five minutes drive away. Alicante airport offers even more flights, and is just an hour away. 30 km to the northwest can be found the historic city of Murcia, the region's administrative centre.
The city of Murcia is the capital of the region and seat of government organs, except for the parliament (Regional Assembly), which is located in Cartagena.
Los Alcazares is a lovely Spanish town situated on the Mar Menor (little Sea) on the south east coast of Spain.
The water is very calm and shallow, it is also up to 5 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean Sea all year round. There are 7km of coast line with blue flag award winning beaches. The lagoon is 22km long by 7km wide. The promenade is lined with palm trees and cherenguito's (Spanish bars serving drinks & tapas) providing a place to stop off for a refreshment as you sit and look across the panoramic lagoon to the La Manga strip on the other side.
The climate here is one of the best in Spain with 320 days of sunshine each year. The mineral rich water here in the Mar Menor is known for its health giving properties, and is listed by the world health organisation as one of the healthiest places on earth. There is also a wealth of local history waiting to be discovered.

"Excellent. Nothing bad to say about it."
You've got to ignore the last review surely....the review is about a different property....anyway.... The apartment is 10 mins from the airport in a cab (10 - 12 euros). Apartment complex very clean and well kept with good security. The Zammit's apartment is ultra clean, well kept and well furnished. On arrival there was even bread, milk and water supplied by the owners. Nice touch. The apartment has probably the best view and position being located on the first floor (lift and stair access) with views over the pool areas. The air-con is on a card meter and we purchased £60 worth prior to travelling. Bearing in mind it was August (last week of august) and the temp in the late 20's early 30's we didn't use any air-con at all. First floor, doors open provided enough breeze. (clearly it could get hotter, but we find it more than OK without air-con on). There is every conceivable appliance you could need, flat TV, Sky TV, DVD player and loads of films to watch if required. Towels for your use, air beds, pool toys etc... (struggled to get wi-fi- but a problem with the company that provided it (so probably temporary) and to be honest it's nice to get away from it !) Plenty of loungers available (were 6 of us - 3 x adults, 3 x kids (8, 13 and 15)). We ate in a few times and were impressed with the balcony size, more than large enough to seat all 6 of us. Atmosphere round the pool was great, people friendly and area was always very clean. No faults here at all. Yes there were pool rules, but no-one beating you with a stick if you decided to throw a ball around for a bit of entertainment. Place had a nice community feel to it. Locally there are plenty restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk and the beach is less than 10 minutes. Sunrise over Mar Menor well worth the early wander to the beach. Area is very popular with Spanish so not a Brits abroad location. If yr into running/ Road Cycling area is great. Good running down the beach and plenty cyclists in the area. Will take road bike on next visit. All communications with Raymond and Avril were first rate. Definitely one of the best apartments we've stayed in. Highly recommended, hassle free, great owners, great apartment and complex. Would go back tomorrow!!
