About the home

Luxury apartment that sleeps four in Los Alcazares. There is a large lounge with satelite TV and two comfortable sofas. The modern kitchen comes complete with Cooker, Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle washing machine and all the other conveniences you might need. There is a large master bedroom with fitted wardrobe and double bed. The second bedroom has two single beds and fitted wardrobes. There is a large family bathroom and a further bathroom with shower and WC.
There is a large balcony, off the sitting room, which is perfect for "Al Fresco" dining and enjoying the magnificent views of the Cabeza Gordo mountain.
Located in the exclusive El Divino complex this property is set in immaculately maintained grounds with the use of two large swimming pools. The complex itself is quiet and peaceful but only 5 minutes walk from the Mar Menor beach local bars supermarkets and restaurants. The Mar Menor has some of the best beaches in Spain and as a result has excellent facilities and watersports. With many golf courses in the area this destination is also perfect for golfers.

The Costa Calida region

The climate here is fantastic with 320 days of sunshine a year, hot summers and mild winters. The sea here is warm enough to swim in all year round, especially in the Mar Menor.

The historic city of Murcia is around 40 mins away by car, and well worth a visit. Founded in 852 AD by the moors this city boasts many historical attractions and architectural marvels, which include: The Cathedral, The University buildings, Bishops palace, Botanic Gardens, Museums and much more. For great designer shopping the municipal casino (a social club erected in 1847) is a must, as are the designer boutiques lining the streets: Calles Traperia and Plateria.

Cartegena, Spains oldest port, is only 25km away. Built in 230 BC by the Carthaginians the city still retains some of its fascinating archaelogical sites. Throughout the old centre of the city you will find many museums, Roman ruins and temples. Cartagena is of major naval importance to Spain, and as such there are many interesting maritime sights including the world first submarine built in 1884.

Other interesting cities in the area include: Santiago de la Ribera, Lo Pagan, Cabo de Palos, Orihuela, Lorca

The Los Alcazares area

Los Alcazares, Originally Al Kazar the Arabic for ‘palace', is a picturesque fishing village famous for its sandy beaches and excellent water sports. The town is filled with an excellent selection of restaurants, bars and cafes to suit all tastes and budgets.

Los Alcazares borders a 7km stretch of the Mar Menor. The Mar Menor is the largest salt water lagoon in Europe, separated from the Mediterranean Sea by the narrow La Manga isthmus. Due to La Manga the waters here are always 3-4 degress warmer than the mediterranean.

In summer 2005 the Beaches in Los Alcazares were inspected and received he highest possible grade for water quality, with further awards for facilities, safety, signeage and sand quality. The town's beaches have consistently achieved the EC blue flag status year after year. Because the beaches are so highly praised it is no suprise to find that the watersports on offer here are some of the best and safest in Spain.

Locally you will find many great activities to enjoy which include: Jet skiing, golf, sailing, waterskiing, scuba diving, fishing, tennis, horse riding, water park, tennis, windsurfing and kite boarding.

We had a great time and where the apartment is situated is ideal. Facilities in the apartment, were first class and everything we needed. We will not hesitate to book this apartment again when we return to Los Alcazares.
